Soooo now that Union has one less national championship than RPI to Clarkson´s two....can we say that Union has become RPI´s biggest hockey rival?

By that metric, wouldn't Michigan be our biggest rival?

Can you please post the link to the RPI stream?

In spite of an impressive start to the campaign, it seems to be generally conceded that Union has yet to reclaim its form of last season. The lineup is punctuated with new faces, all of whom have admirably acquitted themselves. It is difficult to see the Dutchmen losing this weekend. Should the Bennett Boys start firing on all cylinders against a reeling RPI team, the potential for lopsided scores will contribute to the lopsided record of the last twenty meetings (two RPI victories).

There's been more than two RPI victories in the last 20. Unless, of course, you're only counting league games.

Per Ed Weaver's Work in Progress in The Record...2-17-1 in league play.

That must have been before the other RB "accidently" spilled the rest of the pot of hot coffee on SA's hand. ;)

With the two programs going in different directions for a very long time now, tough to see any break in the clouds next weekend..

This is interesting, makes you think there will be a different approach to the rivalry this year.

Rick Bennett and Seth Appert are probably perfectly polite acquaintances off the ice. They are probably just in the mode of promoting Capital Region hockey, is my bet.

Standing room tickets purchased for Saturday's game, so I'll have the joy of pushing against Union fans to see RPI (probably) get shellacked. Awesome.

Union lineup
After sitting out last Saturday’s game, Kevin Shier replaces Tyler Hynes.

Forwards (LW-C-RW):
Daniel Ciampini/Mike Vecchione/Specner Foo
Roman Ammirato/Max Novak/Matt Wilkins
Mark Bennett/Ryan Scarfo/Sam Coatta
Kevin Shier/Eli Lichtenwald/Michael Pontarelli

Defense:
Jeff Taylor/Noah Henry
J.C. Brassard/Sebastien Gingras
Nick DeSimone/Charlie Vasaturo

That is a very very solid lineup for us !!!! No experimenting here.
All four lines are fairly balanced, solid
Novak and Wilkins back on the same line !!!!
Scarfo back at center
Starting 6 freshmen
