Honestly I think most of it comes from a couple usual suspects. The same guys used to clutch their pearls about us. For the most part, the SLU fanbase recognizes that right now Q is a quality hockey program.

As far as the academic argument about whether Q fits better in HE or the ECAC, we all have our opinions and none of those opinions are going to change anything. Q's going to do what's best for them.

We've already got our two losses to you out of the way, so we're rooting for you to win out in the RS. :p

Appreciate that Kepler. It's hard to be told we are the black sheep and thats why there is always push back from the Q fanbase. We wouldn't be pushing back if we didnt enjoy being in the ECAC and wanted to go to HE.

The administration will do what they will but we are all thankful to be in the ECAC with the 11 other schools

Those guys even have me defending Qunnipiac! FWIW, this article by an ND student newspaper is what has everyone's panties in a bunch. http://ndsmcobserver.com/2015/01/carson-nd-left-outside-hockey-east/

Also some interesting comments on this UCONN board about the whole supposed mess. http://the-boneyard.com/threads/notre-dame-lamenting-conference-realignment-hockey.71707/

Getting pretty excited for the coming weekend.
I have tickets for Clarkson on Saturday, but it doesn't look like we will be able to make the trip up :(

Friday's game is sure to be a good one. Looking at the rest of the season SLU's schedule is pretty similar to ours with theirs maybe being just a tad easier.
My gut tells me that SLU will be 4-1 in the 5 remaining games after friday. A win for us on friday will certainly make thing more comfortable for the remainder of the schedule.

This is my first year as a college hockey and Bobcat fan. So far I'm enjoying the ride.

Another huge weekend ahead. SLU is smoking right now and we'll need to be prepared to play our best game of the year.

One shift. One period. One game.

Go Q!

First game for me at the Bank since Harvard. Should be great with all the rest of the students there!

Quite excited for the game tonight as well. Wish I could be there, but I will be watching online. The Bank should be jumping tonight, so hopefully our guys can feed off that energy. They really have not had a home game with the students in session since the Harvard - Dartmouth weekend in early December. A fast start to establish a home-ice advantage and a little momentum should go a long way in how tonight's game will unfold.

Huge win tonight to put a stranglehold on the top of the ECAC.

Game lived up to the hype. SLU controlled the first with ease. Couple rockets from Jonzzon and L Smith. I thought the penalty shot miss was the turning point even though Q was already leading 2-1. After the penalty shot, we saw Q start to pick up some steam.

Tomorrow night is another HUGE game. I think Clarkson matches up with us better than SLU. We dont like big physical defenses. Cant be under the impression that we've won anything yet.

We are now 11th in the PWR. Our strength of schedule is not really good right now as Lowell has fallen off a cliff and out of the top 16 and getting swept by a Merrimack team that is practically .500 isn't good and we have two bad losses in UConn and UMass. St. Cloud State also is having a down year. If we can take care of business in the regular season that could jump us into the top 10 in the PWR.

Our out of conference play has been atrocious to say the least. Problem is you cant play all ECAC teams in the NCAA tournament, if thats where we end up.

Great game, great result. Great jerseys too!

They never lost any composure after getting outplayed in the first. It was nice to see them capitalize on the 2 mistakes SLU made in the 2nd. Those are the types of plays that turn momentum and then Garts standing tall on the penalty shot sealed the deal. In my opinion, the Saints got a little sloppy in the 3rd or the result could have been different.

Entertaining game to watch tonight. Won't say too much other than QU capitalized on 2 of our mistakes, while SLU only capitalized on 1 of yours. I don't think either team is walking away feeling they played great, either. Hopefully these 2 teams can put on a show Saturday night in Lake Placid.

Mark and the others I talked to tonight, great to see you guys again. Good luck the rest of the way.

Great game on both sides tonight!
Both teams had about equal amounts of controlling the game. We dodged a bullet with the penalty shot for sure.
It was great to see the two teams so evenly matched. I thought SLU was going to tie it in those last few seconds.
Lets hope we can keep the momentum going tomorrow night against Clarkson.

I have tickets for tomorrow night, but can't make it up to the game. If anyone is close by and can use them let me know. I hate to see them go to waste.

Saturday game day at the Bank!

Having lost to Princeton last night, Clarkson will be hungry for sure. We'll need to keep our heads in the game and stay focused. Defense was good last night but still had a couple of breakdowns that need to be cleaned up. Garteig was strong and will need to be again tonight. Offensively I'd still like to see more scoring but they had good pressure last night and will need more of the same tonight.

Hopefully the weather will hold off long enough to get the game in and let everyone get home safely.

Go Q!

Here's a great feel good story I was told last night. It goes to show the class and compassion that Rand and the team are made of, regardless of what the detractors may think.

A fellow season ticket holder that sits in front of me fell and shattered his hip a couple of months ago and has been confined to a bed at a rehab facility. His friend, also a season ticket holder who has battled cancer, wanted to do something to try and cheer his buddy up. So he called Rand thinking that he'd get a secretary, and when Rand answered he explained the situation and asked if there was something the team might be able to send to cheer up his friend. Rand told him he'd have his secretary get back to him in a few hours to set something up.

Well, later that afternoon, they set a time to meet at the facility and Rand, along with Peca, Federico, and 2 other players showed up for a visit. They had a framed picture signed by the entire team along with a bunch of other trinkets. They visited for an hour, talking about the team and hockey in general. Both men were amazed at the caring and compassion the guys had towards basically a complete stranger.

People can say whatever they want about Rand, the team, or the school. It's these off-ice stories that make me feel good. For a coach and 4 of his players to take time out of their day shows a tremendous amount of class and integrity in my book. We've all read about the team visits to local schools and the like, but these types of things also happen quite often and go unnoticed by most.
