Excellent job by ESPN, plenty of Union praise by Buccigross and Melrose, and Matt DuBrey on WPTR with his "that seals the deal", well...priceless! Loved all the fan support in the Wells Fargo. It seemed like there were 10,000 Union shirts! Next year's opener, with the "raising of the banner" is going to be a tough ticket. Love it... I think we're going to need a bigger rink!

Congrats, Union fans. Well-earned championship for your team, enjoy it! For selfish reasons, I hope all your underclassmen jump to the pros.

I wish there was an official count of Union fans in Philly. I'm not talking about the BC/ND fans who were rooting for Union, but rather the actual fans who were wearing Union gear. I was shocked (and proud) at the incredible turnout.

Details emerge on the Frozen Holiday Classic, which Union will play in next season -

Bridgeport is becoming home away from home for the Dutchmen.

Those radio calls are golden. DuBrey and Unger are better than a lot of guys doing that kind of work for pro teams.

Size hasn't worked against this guy so far in the NHL.

Actually if Ghost weighs anything over 165 I'd be surprised. There is nothing big about him accept his talent and heart, which in and of themselves could be enough.

Ken Schott reporting there will be a parade this Thursday at 4pm starting on campus and ending at city hall. The question is will Matt Bodie be in attendance? He is reportedly close to signing with the NY Rangers!! A big congratulations to him!

Re: UNION Hockey National Champion's Off Season-U Believe it?

Union is #1 today in the only poll that really matters.

Along the way we won the Cleary Cup, the Whitelaw Cup, and the 2014 National Championship. Our coach was voted National Coach of the Year by the American Hockey Coaches Association and the College Hockey News. We have four All American, and 6 All ECAC players on our roster. In both the ECAC and NCAA playoffs, Union demonstrated time and again to Dartmouth, Cornell, Colgate, Vermont, Providence, Boston College and Minnesota what a great team Union is. From Union fans and foes alike there was admiration for this team, and I'll guess that Union picked up a few new fans along the way. Hey Union is an easy team to like the way they played and we don't have a very big bandwagon so we can use them all.

We did not win the Mayor's Cup.... nobody's perfect.

Speaking of awards, I understand that the Massengill Poster of the Year Award is too close to call, but will be shared by the occupants of the RPI Clown car that pulled up to the Union thread after this years Mayor's Cup.

Should be nice when they hang that NCAA Championship banner in the salt shed next season.

It doesn't get any better than this.

I assume it would be a two way deal and in any event Rangers start playoffs that night v Philly. Anyway, best of luck to Bodes, he was the straw that stirred the drink IMO. He deserves all success that comes his way.

Glenville PD, NYS Police, Niskayuna PD, Rotterdam PD, Scotia PD, and the Schenectady County Sheriff's Department were called in as mutual aid to calm the crowd of students. Police say that five people, all Union College students, were arrested on Saturday night.

The college released a statement on Sunday afternoon regarding the arrests:

"We are very proud of the way the majority of our students and fans celebrated our first national championship. Unfortunately, a handful of fans chose to behave inappropriately. As a result, they will now have to face the consequences for their actions."
Hey those Gopher Fans in Minnesota all choked up and caused disturbances in a place called Dinkytown lol... They have Dinkytown, but Schenectady sounds a lot tougher with neighborhoods named The Stockade Section, Union Ave, Mont Pleasant, Steward, and Bellvue etc thought that was cool of the Mayor to get out and walk the crowds. Those few students throwing things towards or even near the officers brought it on themselves. Just a few kids arrested should not even tarnish the healthy celebration, media always loves to stir the pot negatively if they can.
