Who cares...both are fantastic. Gilles is probably the better overall net-minder but you can't deny how phenomenally Nichols is playing. That team is squarely on his back and he's playing at higher level than just about anyone at this point it could be argued.

Doubt it . As I said below in the past 2 years only 2 goalies have had a lower gaa then what Gillies has now and none his equal in save pct. don't set up a scenario where next year you will crap on Ellis

Also as The Fred's have mentioned twice below after years of losing how to win big games in a process. Getting that change of culture involves not just the goalie, but the whole team

Ellis? I am pretty sure Hawkey is coming in to start next season but we will see. Yes, he is coming off major knee injury but would expect him to be penciled in as the starter

Ellis will be penciled in as the starter if Gillies leaves. Hopefully Hawkey can recover quickly, players with ACL surgery usually aren't back to normal until the second year back to action....see Niko Rufo.

Bingo! Hawkey also tore his MCL so his injury is more extensive

Maybe Rufo just isn't that good? -3 last year in eight games with only two goals and an assist. This year he only has six shots on goal in his 11 games while being a -3. He hasn't played in four out of the last five games while he played four out of the first five.

Major knee injury takes time. So he is not good, Gilles is not good. What brings you to PC the pizza?

The jury is still out on Rufo. But the pizza is definitely not good. Sorry to be so negative but it seems to fit.

I think MR. 45 has it in for Gillies because the NH native passed on where Mr. 45 (and Gillies father) went to school...UHN...I mean UNH...

See if you actually knew me, you wouldn't make that statement..I used to drive from UNH to see PC play at Lowell, Merrimack, at Maine etc...instead of watching UNH who went to two final fours in my four years.

No, that would be me. :D

As I heard the tale, his father steered him away so he wouldn't have to deal with "expectations" associated with his father's "legend." Get over yourself Bruce, you were never that good.

And ... NH native? I thought Jon was a Maine boy.

In any event, son of a UNH "legend" or not, NH native or not, I'd have been pleased to see him calling the Whitt home.

Edit: the last NH native I begrudged PC was Jon Rhealt. What is it with PC and Jons? Jon?

PC is one of the worst supported good teams in the country IMO. They never fill that beautiful arena, poor student support and community support. I wonder if Cox carrying the home games has hurt attendance?. Anyway, it's a shame.

I don't know about the country as Brown struggles at the gate too. I think the Providence Bruins hurt PC's attendace as they routinely get over 7k at the Dunkin Donuts Center.

So a victory tonight for PC would make Providence undefeated in Boston this season...when was the last time PC had a winning record in the city?

Last year, they didn't win a game in the city...
