An interview with Alec Dillon on The Pipeline Show http://www.thepipelineshow.com/media...389675600&sn=9 (segment 5). I don't recall hearing this before although it is several months old.

I didn't like the interviewers suggesting after the interview that the Edmonton Oil Kings would probably be a better fit.

On Tuesday, the Waterloo Black Hawks lost to the Indiana Ice 3-2. They lost the best-of-5 playoff series for the Clark Cup 3-2. Drew Melanson had a hooking penalty. http://ushl2011.stats.pointstreak.co...gameid=2440524

Melanson's playoff line is now 12-5-6-11-8.
        Total 71-22-33-55-24.

This ends the season of RPI's last recruit who was still playing.

I watched tonight’s game on fasthockey. I now see what you’ve been telling us Doc, Melanson is some skater. Right away I noticed who’s style of skating he reminds me of.....D’Amigo. He has that “running” style that is also similar to Ovie. Looking forward to seeing him at the HFH.
Brandon Pirri: Turk would give it to Jagr. That's awesome! Jagr's untouchable. And he would give it to Jagr.

I never would have guessed that he would be compared to D'Amigo. I guess that he could skate like JD'A and still be a totally different type of player.

A new WaP article about our 16 known recruits and when they are likely to come to Troy. The article pretty much agrees with my thoughts which probably means that there will be several surprises when SA's annual recruit announcement comes out and then again the fall.

                    New in the RPI directory:

                    Name: Kenneth Gillespie
                    Class: First-Year Student
                    Curriculum: Business and Management

So FWIW Bell, Gillespie, Manley, Melanson, Moore, Nanne, and Wilson are now listed.

Melanson’s distinct skating style was all I was referring to.

                        I realized that.

Thanks Ralph and WAP for the article. I know very little about the whole recruiting process. But it seems to me that if Prapavessis is as talented as he appears to be, and is on the NHL radar, I would want him in Troy sooner than later.
If he gets drafted and is still in juniors, he might just go straight to the pros.
As I said, I don't know much about the process, but I could see him going pro if he is not yet in Troy>

Assuming that he is drafted, it depends a lot about what the team drafting him thinks.

I am worried that he would go to the OHA next season than immediately turn pro if he isn't at RPI. At his age he can't turn pro and go to the minors next season. It's either the NHL or an amateur league (including college). I don't think that he is good enough to immediately go to the NHL.

Correct Ralph. Should Praps go the OHL route then he is unelligible for the AHL till age 20 (that’s an agreement between the NHL & CHL). I’ve often thought that was the thinking with Pirri; play 1 year of D1 so he could bypass that. Not saying that’s Praps’ plan. I’m pretty sure we’ll see him in Troy this Fall though.
