It'd be a shame if they didn't bring it back to Boston. Chicago would make a great FF host city given its central location and accessibility, and abundance of sightseeing, lodging and food/drink establishments. Ditto w/ going back to D.C.

Brooklyn is an intriguing option simply b/c it's NYC, although it remains to be seen how the sightlines are once Barclays Center is configured for hockey upon the Islanders' move.

Boston, Chicago, D.C. and St. Paul would be my choices. Anywhere but Columbus.

I think the 3 winners we see are Boston, Chicago and St. Paul. Boston has not been a host in 15 years and is a great market. The two other cities are great hockey markets as well.

Anyone know who is sponsoring the Chicago bid? Assuming Notre Dame or the B1G conference...

I don't think it's going to be Brooklyn, which is too bad because how awesome would that be?

(By which I mean awesome for me personally to have the Frozen Four within walking distance of my home. Probably less so for the rest of you because of the costs, although there are enough hotels that have opened recently or will be opening soon in that area. Plus everyone would be spared the expenditure of a car rental because you wouldn't need one. The sight lines really are an issue, though, but I would guess the capacity isn't because it wouldn't have gotten to the finalist stage otherwise.)

I think Boston, Chicago and St. Paul are pretty much locks. Last spot will come down to Tampa or DC. Buffalo wouldn't be bad either

The arena was really only built to accommodate a playing surface the size of a basketball court. As a result, to put in a rink, they have to take out seating behind the net one goal and in the lower corners at that same end. Those are premium seats, but like I said I think they're willing to accept the loss of some ticket sales if Brooklyn's bid got this far. However, the result is that there are some bad obstructed views at that end, with railings and ledges and stuff blocking part of the ice. I went to the Islanders-Devils exhibition game there last month and the view was great from the upper corner (I think we were in 219 or 220), but I'm not sure whether they're going to be willling to overlook the issues.

Because of short notice the 2015 site will have to be a place that already has hosting experience

I assume you mean 10 years? They hosted in 2004.
