    Fwiw, Ciocco doesn't say that Gaudreau was definitely coming to UNH, but that he had a strong interest. I'm pretty sure that this post is the genesis of the Gaudreau story, and some people misread it that UNH admissions requirements were too strict (though Ciocco has said that a strict foreign language requirement HAS inhibited Canadian recruiting).
    Thanks. And like I said, I never questioned Gaudreau having serious interest in UNH. Seems like some people took Ciocco's post and exaggerated it. If there is some disconnect where your head coach who has been in place forever can't even get admissions to look at an application--that's a major problem in my opinion. It's not like he was asking them to let a shady kid into school, just looking for them to review it.

      He still would have decommited and went to BC

      Still a state agricultural school at the end of the day with a very high acceptance rate for avg type candidates

      They have kids on team now who were on line students in juniors

            What's up your butt? And what do you have against UNH?

              OK, so to summarize "Johnny-Gate":

              1. He had a strong interest in coming to UNH but FOR WHATEVER REASON, was not admitted;
              2. BC shows interest, he says "cool!", and receives admission.

              The deceased horse has now been beaten to a pulp. Let's move on.

                He's got a thing for Vecchione and believes Umile made the boy cry.

                  Long story short, there is no room for Vecchione on the roster and he is bitter about it.

                      Figured I'd flesh your recap out just a little bit to make it more current, Scott.

                        One last note on the JG topic. One of his best friends from his home NJ hockey community is #8 Jamie Hill. That alone could be compelling enough for someone to play for a particular program- playing in college with one of your buddies. Check their facebook pages out. You will see them both in many pictures together. It could have given UNH an edge if all other things were equal.

                                I believe in respecting other opinions whether I agree or not but you are an idiot. State agricultural school? At least try to argue with a touch of intelligence. Wow!
