* Here are your options for the Super Sunday Vegas Pick:
1) If you pick MSU, they have to win by 4 goals or more, then you get two points
- pick would look like this: AIC @ MSU - MSU
2) If you pick AIC, they have to either win, tie, or lose by 3 goals or less, then you get two points
- pick would look like this: AIC @ MSU - AIC
3) If you pick AIC "straight up" and they win, you get eight points (do NOT pick MSU "straight up"...you will lose 2 points)
- pick would look like this: AIC @ MSU - AIC Straight Up
4) If the game ends with MSU winning by 3, it will be considered a push, and everyone will receive 1 point (unless you picked a tie, then you will receive -2 points)

Also, keep in mind that no points are awarded for #4 unless it actually happens (in which case you would receive 1 point because you are technically not picking a tie).

WEEKLY RULES:
1) All picks must be in by the drop of the puck of the FIRST game in the bunch. This week, that is FRIDAY at 7:00pm Eastern! (The 4pm Brown-Yale matchup is not an "away" game by either team)
2) No late picks will be allowed. No exceptions. This means that if you post your picks on Friday at 7:10pm Eastern, you will not receive credit for your picks.
3) Do NOT pick a tie. If you do, you will lose 2 points.
4) All correct picks will earn 2 points (unless stated otherwise). If a game ends in a tie (regardless of shootout), you will receive 1 point, unless you picked a tie, in which case you will LOSE 2 points. DO NOT PICK A TIE.
5) If you see a mistake within these rules based on the games selected, please note it as soon as possible. If nobody points it out in a reasonable amount of time, I will interpret the rules and come to a decision.
6) Anyone can play. You do not have to continue to predict after this week. You didn't have to predict last week.

Good Luck![/QUOTE]

You may end up with a scoring problem if people went by your original rules.

Then they should have said something. That's why I put that portion in the rules. Anyone complaining will have nobody to blame but themselves.

Plus, I'm getting a little irritated by the complaining. I do my best to make this fun and interesting. It's quickly becoming not fun for me. I have plenty of other work that I could do.

Some people don't understand the effort you go through to do this.....I do, I have done it in the past. I appreciate your work Sioux 23...

Well, nobody got the exact number on either of the bonus questions. Of course, had UNO and DU just played regulation then we would have had one exact winner for their SOG, but the OT shots pushed everyone out of getting points there. A handful of people earned points for the ECAC Total Goals Friday contest with Terrance getting the closest with 38 and earning 4 points.

Thus far, it has been a much better week for our predictions. The average point total right now is just under 12, so that should push beyond 12, perhaps as high as 13. The highest of any week thus far was week 2, where the average poster added 15.56 points to their total.

Overall, Aerman has clinched the top spot through Week 5. PcFriars is just 1 point behind, but both posters predicted AIC today. Aerman likely captured the Week 5 Standings top spot as well, unless AIC wins straight up, then Terrance and Irish08 will share that spot with 20 points.

Anyway, good luck to everyone in the AIC-MSU match today, and I'll try and have the full Week 5 recap and Week 6's games up by either tonight or tomorrow before noon.

I would consider gloating, but just last week I tied for dead last. There is far more luck involved in this amusement than most of us would care to admit. ;)

Your post needed fixing. People generally just use previous poster's posts for their predictions as opposed to the original. Consequently, I needed to fix your post and make it quite obvious at that.

As for managing this thread, I'm giving strong consideration to quitting. For the time being, I'll continue, but people (;)) need to lighten up when it comes to pick'em. This is supposed to be fun. If you see something off with the rules, say so as soon as you notice it.
