I'd assume he's coming in as a walk-on? A '95 DOB? He's only 5'8 as well.

He's overage, but still a top 10 USHL scorer. He can't be walking on, can he?? Does anyone know for sure?

Don't know for sure, but with him being such a late pickup ... I'd have to wonder?

NU added a '98 yesterday.
And now they've added an '01 for '19. Both from the Jr. Bruins (U-16).

Stockpiling?
A few of these programs have an almost full roster in commitments already. Amazing.

Maybe the B1G had the right idea, but the wrong approach. Can you limit the number / timing of commitments? For example no 4 year cohort can have more than 18 commitments.

That would be interesting, but I doubt the B1G would be interested considering they are getting verbals from 13 year olds

The recruits arriving in 2016-2019 could not exceed 18.
2017-20 could not exceed 18.
etc.

If Junior wants to commit today to arriving in 2022, then he will count in the 2019-22 cohort.

the hardest thing about the stockpiling is its all verbal commitment... so you could certainly have more commits than scholies (not even getting into the reality that teams often offer a couple but not all of the years) but then what happens when you burn players.

The answer is there is no answer to the stockpile... maybe you change the contact age to 17?

That being said, I have no problem sharpening up the hard cut-off age. Make it a certain date beyond costs you a year. I see no reason to go all the way to 18... because no other sport would accept that anyways. Even 20 is a start... and I know there's a point where the clock auto runs anyways... like 22.

I believe so. His older brother ('99) also committed to UVM.

So that puts next years class at 6 Forwards, 1 Defenseman, and a Goalie. CJ Smith insurance?

I hope not. There are 6 senior forwards to replace. Colantone left mid season. This seems about right to me.

Well if that isn't the greatest name for a goalie in the history of the sport, I don't know what is.
