Great to see. Between kids like Smith, Panico and Masters (first round USHL picks), Dmowski (phase 1 1st round USHL pick) ... we're definitely seeing a higher caliber of player coming.

BTW, Evan Anderson has a 2-2-4 so far in 6 games in the BCHL playoffs. Forney has 1 goal in 6 games. Langley won their first playoff series 4-2. They play Coquitlam in the divisional finals starting tonight.

Powell River (Jeff Smith's club) plays Victoria in the same round, also starting tonight.

            It's almost, almost ... depressing.

One of UMass' top recruits for '15, Jake Wahlin decommitted. His brother and he had committed to UMass prior to the 2013 season starting, Jake was the much better player though. The chance to play together was the reasoning originally, but apparently no longer.

96 F Jake Wahlin (White Bear Lake) decommits from UMass, per @WeissFC. Huge player with scoring ability back on the board.
It might actually send some UMass fans to the Tobin if he committed to Lowell, but I'd highly doubt it.

That's a big hit for Amherst.

Are you hinting at something here?

                  Catching up on playoff stuff:

                  BCHL:
Forney and Campbell had no points in a 4-2 loss in Game 1 for Langley on Friday night. They also had no points Saturday night in a 2-1 loss.

Jeff Smith was pulled after 40 minutes and 4 goals (20 saves) in a 4-1 loss for Powell River on Friday night. It didn't get better last night, as he gave up 4 again (in 40 again) making 18 saves in 5-0 loss.

                  CCHL
Ryan Collins has one assist in Ottawa's first two playoff games, their series is tied at 1.

Earlier this week, both Langley and Powell River played games 3 and 4 in their series.

Langley won game 3 (no points for Forney or Anderson), but lost game 4 (Forney with a goal), and the #1 seed in their division is now down 3-1 to the #2.

Jeff Smith's Powell River squad won twice, to tie their series at 2. But Smith didn't play in either game (after a pretty bad game 1 and 2).

Jeff Smith got back into the net for Powell River last night, but his team was down 3-0 when he went in. He played the final 33:17 and didn't give up any goals, but the 3-0 deficit was also the final score. Powell River is down 3-2.
