[Ed. I saw the DU thread discussing it after creating this one. My apologies for duplicating, although it was probably inevitable that someone would.]

I heard he requested higher dashers so he could better yell at the officials and DU said no.

He's just freeing himself up in case his dream job opens up. ;)

Add the fact that his ice cream expense report got rejected after the UNH loss and he'd had enough...

BA "not a hockey guy" has to at least be thinking a bit.

He just wants to coach in an elite conference like the B1G, one step closer... :)

Might already be in the works. The next 24-48 will be telling.

Barry may not be a hockey guy, but he's a $ guy and the attendance issues must be on his mind. This little trip to the NCAAs will have no effect on attendance next year.

Hiring a well known (in hockey circles) successful coach is probably a good play regardless of how the team bounced back this year.

Sure, I'm probably off my rocker, but I won't be shocked if this comes to pass.

He's just freeing himself up in case his dream job opens up. ;)Didn't he turn that job down last time it was open? Or was he not offered it?

An interesting theory. Do you know by chance what sport will he be coaching in the B1G?

Of course, being happy in current job vs not being happy can make an awfully big difference.

I thought he wasn't offered it, hence the saying that "Wisconsin had their chance" or something to that effect.

Priceless

He's coming to Maine, from what I've heard. They finally finished the evaluation, and Whitey got the ax.

He was forced out according to Mike Chambers for lack of success in the NCAA's. What a joke.

You wish. Plus, I thought you wanted to take the Dubuque Fighting Saints' head coach and GM?
