I found all the "we can't get a coach without head coaching experience" commentary funny, given that 20% of the WCHA did that just last offseason. While the jury is out on Corbett (although I'd say that he did about as well as he could've with the talent we had in the system), you can't say that Matt Thomas was a slouch in Anchorage.

When it comes to drama, our two programs are some of the more boring ones in the league.

        Yeah I can imagine.

Geof, sometimes drama free is a good thing! We just have to save it all up for rivalry week.

Well, but with everyone claiming that title for themselves, it lost its meaning.

BSU has landed another Bemidji native on its list of recruits. Dillon Eichstadt, a defenseman who played in Aberdeen (NAHL) last year, has commited to the Beavers!

With the Dog Days of Summer upon us, I thought I would take a look at the possible Beaver Roster for 2014-15. This is based on last season’s roster and I have not heard anything about any non-seniors leaving the team. But looking at numbers and recruits that are slated to come in, there may be some attrition.

                  Forwards (18):
Danny Mattson (Sr.) 86 GP, 10G-35A-45 Pts.
Cory Ward (Jr.) 74 GP, 27G-17A-44 Pts.
Markus Gerbrandt (Jr.) 69 GP, 19G-11A-30 Pts.
Brendan Harms (So.) 38 GP, 7G-14A-21 Pts.
Phil Brewer (Jr.) 68 GP, 5G-8A-13 Pts.
Mitch Cain (Sr.) 82 GP, 4G-8A-12 Pts.
Phillip Marinaccio (So.) 36 GP, 5G-6A-11 Pts.
John Parker (Jr.) 42 GP, 5G-5A-10 Pts.
Nate Arentz (So.) 23 GP, 3G-5A-8 Pts.
Brad Robbins (Jr.) 44 GP, 1G-3A-4 Pts.
                  Charlie O’Connor (So.) 31 GP, 2G-1A-3 Pts.
Bob Kinne (So.) 26 GP, 1G-2A-3 Pts.
                  Corey Petrash (Ceder Rapids, USHL)

How do you keep a happy locker room at 32 kids? Of course, we can't even fit 32 in ours. Also, that's a lot of tuition bills to cover with not 18 FTEs.

As for the IIHF competition, there was another UAH-BSU tilt when Canada faced Italy, as Davide Nicoletti played for ITA.

Yep, 26 or 27 seems to be a common roster size.

I believe there will be some players who won't be back, but we won't know that until school starts up again.

And we won't know for sure on the recruits until classes start up as well.

Edit: All recruits but Heller, Dickman and Baudry have signed. But I believe these three are out of Junior eligibility.

I have seen that a couple of recruits have picked up some awards!

TJ Roo: NAHL Rookie of the Year
Jay Dickman: All NAHL Central Division Team
TJ Roo: All NAHL Central Division Team

                          USHL Draft:
Dillion Eichstadt selected #13 to Sioux Falls
TJ Roo selected #93 to Fargo

I will do some more digging later on other recruits.

I was clearing out my downstairs bedroom today when I found my white MURRAY 51 CBJ jersey. I think that I joked with Millsy that I'd get the jersey of the first CHA alumnus to the NHL (hoping that it would be Jared Ross) and ended up with it. I'll sell it to one of you for a song or trade it for one of those Bruins-style thirds that I'm known to like.
