Quietly by the numbers:

UNION Last ten home games (all conf numbers)
Record 9-0-1
Scored 3.50 vs. 2.91 av season
Gave up 1.20 vs. 2.24 av season

Next Home game - Atlantic City

Record Neutral Site 2-0
Record Atlantic City 2-0

Number of Yale Players both at or over 6'0" and 200 lbs. - 9
Number of Union Players both at or over 6'0" and 200 lbs. - 3

Yale is at full strength with the return of their goalie. In their last season game against Cornell, Yale took Cornell apart for all three periods and the 2:1 score was not a reflection of how one sided it was. We are again giving away 15 - 20 lbs and 2+ " per player.

General Patton's "Blood and Guts" Speech the Troops (Warning Language)
Excerpts from the Speech Given somewhere in England on June 5th, 1944
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/866647/posts

"Be seated."
.......................
"My men don't surrender, and I don't want to hear of any soldier under my command being captured unless he has been hit. Even if you are hit, you can still fight back. That's not just bull**** either. The kind of man that I want in my command is just like the lieutenant in Libya, who, with a Nazi Kraut poking a Luger against his chest, jerked off his helmet, swept the gun aside with one hand, and busted the hell out of the Kraut with his helmet. Then he jumped on the gun and went out and killed another German before they knew what the hell was coming off. And, all of that time, this man had a bullet through a lung."
............
"We'll win this war, but we'll win it only by fighting and by showing the Germans that we've got more guts than they have; or ever will have. We're not going to just shoot the sons-of-*****es, we're going to rip out their living God****ed guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks. We're going to murder those lousy Hun **********s by the bushel-****ing-basket!"

"War is a bloody, killing business. You've got to spill their blood, or they will spill yours! Rip them up the belly. Shoot them in the guts. When shells are hitting all around you and you wipe the dirt off your face and realize that instead of dirt it's the blood and guts of what once was your best friend beside you, you'll know what to do!"

"I don't want to get any messages saying, 'I am holding my position." We are not holding a God****ed thing. Let the Germans do that! We are advancing constantly and we are not interested in holding onto anything, except the enemy's balls! We are going to twist his balls and kick the living **** out of him all of the time. Our basic plan of operation is to advance and to keep on advancing regardless of whether we have to go over, under, or through the enemy. We are going to go through him like crap through a goose; like **** through a tin horn!"

If you decide to buy your tix at the Boardwalk Hall Box Office, there are no fees involved. Ticketmaster fees online are near ten bucks a ticket, so buy at the door, it will not even be close to a sellout.

Yale is at full strength with the return of their goalie. In their last season game against Cornell, Yale took Cornell apart for all three quarters and the 2:1 score was not a reflection of how one sided the match was. We are again giving away 15 - 20 lbs and 2+ " per player. This size issue is not entirely accurate. Several of Yale's bigger players don't play much or are goalies. Yale's forwards, except for Laganiere (who is huge and talented), are mostly average to smaller in size. Yale's d-men are definitely bigger than Union's, but given that skating speed is important in defending the Eli's quick forwards, that is not a bad compromise. Overall, Yale is not one of the bigger teams U has faced this year and certainly is not as big as Dartmouth was.

U's biggest issue with Yale will be matching their speed and preventing them from hogging the puck. They are playing with a ton of confidence now that Malcolm is back in goal for them and U likely won't get any softies like they did in Schenectady. But if the boys play like they have of late, should be a great game.

Good call. I think there are also scalpers outside on the boardwalk selling tickets for around $10. The arena will be empty and you can sit wherever you want.

Union sells out ECAC Hockey championships ticket allotment
By Ken Schott
Thursday, March 21, 2013

If you are a Union hockey fan and are thinking about seeing the Dutchmen in the ECAC Hockey championships this weekend in Atlantic City, the only way you can purchase tickets now is through the Boardwalk Hall box office at (800) 736-1420, or order online at www.ticketmaster.com.

The Dutchmen sold out their ticket allotment. The bus transportation and ticket package sales also have been completed.

Does anyone know what sections Union got assigned in AC? That would be helpful to know when I go up to the ticket window in AC tomorrow.

That's good to know. We're not going down and don't get the station that's broadcasting the game. When we were at Coaches' Corner last Tuesday, I think someone mentioned that the VanDyke might have the game on also. Is there anything official on that?

At the suggestion of U ticket office we bought upper bowl tix which they said had superior sight lines. IIRC you could pretty much sit anywhere last year. Without Cornell in the mix I am guessing this will be even more lightly attended than last year.
