Sad news from NMU. Ken was my boss while he was the Director of Rec Services. He was a guy that loved his university and loved the students that worked in his program. I looked forward to going to work every day and was proud the program was run by such a great group of people, including Ken.

My condolences to his family and NMU fans. Sad to see a honest caring person go too early.

And now a second iconic figure passes away.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Vandament many times in my NMU career. He bled green and gold while he was in Marquette. I remember him even playing with the pep band at a hockey game once. Another man that truly loved the university. Even though he only spent six years at NMU, he left his mark in so many positive ways.

To me he was the exact opposite of Judy Bailey.

He was a great man. RIP, Mr. Vandament.

I thought I'd get this off page three to get offseason discussion off of that other thread.

Is there still a possibility that the MTU series' could still be home/away?

It's possible, although I'd like to see it stay as is, eliminating the travel to Tech just prior to going to Fairbanks.

Erik Gustafsson and Team Sweden win gold at the IIHF Worlds. Congrats, Gussy!

It is up running.

And pretty spiffy. An improvement over the old one. Now the question is when the CCHA website will be shut down?

I wish they had highlights though

It will likely be neglected, sitting as a quiet reminder of what once was. Not sure when the domain name/hosting expires, but it's paid for until then.

Unless BGSU also retains the website once they assume ccontrol of the rest of the CCHA property. Would make for some good student projects to digitize the CCHA's files and host them on the website.

The hockey schedule is now officially out. One noteworthy change from previous years is the home start time. Gone is the 7:35 faceoff. Now it's 7:07. I think I like that.

Plus, it looks like the MTU series will be home/away.

Someone else will have to post a link to it.

I like the earlier 7:07 start time as well. Wish LSSU did it for all their home games.

I always liked the 7:35 on Friday, 7:05 Saturday schedule. It's hard to grab a bite to eat on a busy Friday night if you work until 6.

I'm all for burying that 4 year old thread for good.

Anyway, who do you think will make a bigger impact as a frosh, Sooth, Siemer, Dahlstrom or Shine?
