  • Re: Pairwise and Bracketology 2013 Edition

Holy Cross is barely over the TUC line. However, they will be favored to win all 3 remaining games again bottom teams in the AHA. So their RPI won't improve much. A loss by Penn St to Wisconsin tonight might put them under the TUC line.

This game tonight between Penn State and Wisconsin is HUGE for Bucky. They can flip 5 comparisons (RPI) and move as high as 17th in the pairwise.

        A Wisconsin win:
        Code:
Manchester (UNH)	Providence (Brown)	Toledo (BGSU) Grand Rapids (Michigan)
        Boston C Quinnipiac Miami Minnesota
New Hamp Niagara No Dakota Mankato
Yale St Cloud Lowell W Michigan
        Dartmouth Denver Rensselaer Notre Dame
If there is a tie or Penn State win:
        Code:
Manchester (UNH)	Providence (Brown)	Toledo (BGSU) Grand Rapids (Michigan)
        Boston C Quinnipiac Miami Minnesota
New Hamp Niagara No Dakota Mankato
Denver St Cloud Lowell W Michigan
        Dartmouth Notre Dame Yale Rensselaer
The TUC line will depend on the outcome of the game. A Wisconsin win pushes Holy Cross to .4999 and out of TUC status. A Penn State win or tie and Holy Cross remains a TUC.

Tweeted this to you as well but Merrimack is no longer leading Hockey East and should be taken out.

No issues with any of the projected brackets. ONE REQUEST: Make sure their is at least one WCHA team in each Region.

And PC wins the tiebreakers in Hockey East right now and should be included. 2-0-1 against UNH and 0-0-1 against BC....

Bracketology is based on winning percentage, which now favors BC. Will be interesting if we get into a 3- 4- or 5-way tie for the league lead in Hockey East once everyone has played the same number of games...

The NCAA will try and avoid that, due to some certain history.

Agreed. They'll do their best to split 5 teams three ways.

Quinnipiac also had never been the number 1 team in the country nor have they ever led the pairwise nor have they ever made the ncaa as a part of the ecac. Quinnipiac hasnt done alot of things until this year. But history fortunately has nothing to do with this year so your comment is flat out ridiculous

Thanks Al, Welcome to the Pairwise thread. Just commenting on recent past history and the under achievement in the ECAC's while a member team. Since joining the league in 06, they have made it to the ECAC semis once, usually entering the tourney as a five or six seed . I guess it is possible that the guy who coached those last six years should make it to the ECAC finals with his eleven 25 year old seniors this year. Although I think the league is good enough that Q could possibly lose in the ECAC's. Stay on the bandwagon it's always a fun ride!
