Where he also seemed to impress some people. I think the adjustment to the play in the USHL has begun to show. I just hope we have someone continuing to look at Delbarton down here in NJ-the team is not as well stocked as I have seen in previous years but there are at least 2 young men worth a good long look. Both built like the power forwards I usually like to see. Delbarton is still ranked as number 1 in the state rankings but had to settle for a tie against a much weaker Bergan Catholic team the other day. They have a lot of talent as evidenced by Baiocco and Melnick going to the Ivies but this is the first year in the past 5 or 6 that the depth just does not seem to be there yet.

I agree that it seems to be showing. Hopefully, he can keep the upslope going, just like I hope RPI can. I don't think that it is that unusual for one to take a half year to adjust especially when one comes from a league with much less competition.

Don't know how much, if any, SA had in D-man Alex Carle (Matt's brother) but he just committed to Merrimack.

My guess -- very little. Do we ever get into a recruiting battle with Merrimack? But it is just a guess.

At the moment Parker Reno has two assists and Jake Wood a high sticking penalty. (And Laura Horwood scored a goal.)

On Saturday, the Lincoln Stars lost to the Fargo Force 3-2. Jimmy DeVito had no points or penalties. Jake Wood had a high sticking penalty. Riley Bourbonnais scored a goal and had a roughing penalty. http://ushl2011.stats.pointstreak.co...gameid=1977777

Newly acquired forward Riley Bourbonnais gave the home fans a lot to cheer about at the 3:19 mark of the third period when he received a pinpoint pass from Tommy Schutt, which sprung him on a breakaway. Bourbonnais skated in alone before wristing the puck stick side past Fargo goaltender Cam Johnson to give the Stars a 2-1 lead. The IceBox erupted. Schutt and Paul LaDue collected the assists on Riley's 17th goal of the season, and his first as a member of the Lincoln Stars.

There is also a picture of him after scoring the goal on the blog post.

BTW, I will have today's box up soon as it is in the third period. Bourbonnais has an assist, and guess who has a fighting major?

On Sunday, the Lincoln Stars defeated the Des Moines Buccaneers 5-0. Jimmy DeVito scored a goal and had a fighting major penalty. Jake Wood had no points or penalties. Riley Bourbonnais had an assist. http://ushl2011.stats.pointstreak.co...gameid=1977784

Wood's line is now 36-8-10-18-97.
Bourbonnais' Lincoln line is now 6-1-2-3-4.

DeVito almost had a Gordie Howe hat track.
DeVito's was the first of four sets of matching fighting penalties in the game.
