What exactly is the ACHA? I thought it was "NCAA-Like" organization for non-varsity teams, but then I was scanning their website and it looked to me like there were teams that were in the NCAA Div. 1 ranks. So I'm confused.....

About ACHA
Keep in mind, some schools probably have an NCAA and ACHA team. For instance, Robert Morris seems to have both. If you look at the rosters, they are different.

Re: Acha?
Like the NCAA, there are difference divisions within the ACHA. There are also two divisions for women's teams, I and II.

Re: Acha?
It's still club teams.
For example, MSU has a varsity NCAA team, and then D2 and D3 ACHA teams. For some other schools that don't have an NCAA team, the ACHA team is a pretty big deal. A guy I know had a kid play for Davenport's (West MI NAIA school) ACHA team. They went out to play Arizona. 15 bucks for a ticket and fill a good amount of a 6,000 seat arena. I'm sure that's not every game because Davenport was the national champion that year, but that's still impressive. Compare that to MSU where the club teams don't even have all the parents show up.Go Green! Go White! Go State!
