Awesome!!! This brings back memories of my childhood! My high school basketball team trailed in the 1994 Section X Championship game 74-62 with 46.7 seconds left and came back to tie it with a three pointer at the buzzer and win it by one in overtime at the buzzer! Craziest game ever!!!

I'd like to congratulate both the Men's and Women's teams for exciting seasons to date. Both have far exceeded my expections back in September, and the coaches, players, support staff - and yes us fans - deserve a ton of credit.

You obviously don't want to rush anything, but we clearly really missed him last week. Fingers crossed that the right decision is made.

That's great news. I'm happy that Kyle's recovery has gone well.

Speaking of great news, here's some on another recruit. It sounds like he is very versatile, a great leader, and that he will be awesome on the PK:

                                Dahl Commits To St. Lawrence

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Phantoms and head coach Anthony Noreen take great pride in announcing that forward Alexander Dahl has committed to play collegiate hockey at St. Lawrence University beginning in fall 2013.

Dahl, who celebrated his 20th birthday on Wednesday, becomes the 11th player on the Phantoms’ current roster to commit to play NCAA Division I hockey following his USHL career. He joins teammate Eric Sweetman as part of the Saints’ recruiting class for 2013.

“I couldn’t be any more proud of, or happier for Alex,” Noreen said. “He’s everything we want the Youngstown Phantoms organization to be about. St. Lawrence is getting a great player but an even better person.”

Dahl is in his second season with the Phantoms and was named co-captain prior to the start of the 2012-13 campaign. The Eau Claire, Wis., native has recorded nine goals, 10 assists and 19 points while playing in all 46 games for Youngstown this season and has been relied heavily upon for his overall play in both the offensive and defensive zones.

Dahl, whose brother Jefferson played in Youngstown from 2009-10, was the Phantoms’ first pick (18th overall) in the 2011 USHL Entry Draft. He played in all but one game for Youngstown his rookie season putting up 3-6-9, and added a pair of assists in six playoff games.

“Alex came in last year and was a guy who played a lot of tough minutes for us and played every position up front,” Noreen said. “He was good but went under the radar, but this year he’s come back and really shown what he can do. He’s on our power play and he’s as good a penalty killer as there is.

“It’s like having another coach on the ice. He plays the system to a tee, knows exactly what you want done and makes sure he and the other guys around him do that every single shift.”

Dahl said that he weighed a number of factors, including the location in Canton, N.Y., and the coaching staff, along with the fact that his current teammate Sweetman was already committed there, before deciding on St. Lawrence.

“The area in upstate New York reminds me a lot of Northern Wisconsin and I had a really good feeling about the coaching staff,” he said. “I was really excited once I found out that they wanted me.

“Eric’s one of my best friends on the team and I’m excited to spend the next four years with him.”

St. Lawrence is part of the prestigious Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference, which includes Ivy League schools such as Yale, Princeton and Harvard as well as the nation’s current No. 1-ranked team Quinnipiac. The Saints have appeared in the NCAA tournament 16 times, most recently in 2007, and made the Frozen Four on eight of those occasions.

Under first-year head coach Greg Carvel, St. Lawrence is 16-12-4 this season and is currently in third place in the ECAC with a 9-7-4 conference record -- MY NOTE: AS OF THE DATE THAT THIS ARTICLE WAS WRITTEN
