Awesome, probably the one thing we were missing.

Miami University Athletics has received two commitments totaling $1.8 million to add a state-of-the-art weight room to Steve 'Coach' Cady Arena for the Miami Hockey program's use. The project, which will total $2 million, is expected to begin construction this fall.

The weight room will consist of four areas for the student-athletes' use. One section will be an off-ice shooting area where players can improve their shot, while simulating being on ice with a specialized surface. The second area will be the actual weight room with free weights and workout machines. Along with that will be a cardio center for players to improve conditioning while also being able to test for various body metrics. The fourth and final segment of the new space will be a coaches/media room.

Now THIS is brutal! 3 of the 4 teams could easily make the FF in this region. Thank goodness for more hockey.

If the comments are any indication, the tickets to the series in north dakota will be very easy to get. Just make sure not to wear sandals when youre walking drunk up there in february.

just read through the comments on that article. You would have thought that the only good teams that UND ever played were Minnesota and Wisconsin. I'm not sure what is wrong with a lot of those fans, complaining about their SOS next year. Wisconsin is average - have been ever since they won the NCAA Championship 3 or 4 years ago. Minnesota is good this year; but, lets be honest, this is the first time they've been relevant for 5-6 years now.

When you break it down, the average NCHC SOS is going to be lightyears ahead of the BTHC.

I get the feeling that a lot of UND fans (not all) just want to feel like they're the BMOC, so they will look down on all of the other schools in the new conference. We can only hope that their team takes the same approach.

TBH we'll probably see some of the same provincialism on our end. It's just that unlike most schools, UND actually has, for lack of a better term, "average" or "run of the mill" fans commenting on and following their team online.

If you read the siouxsports forums at all when the NCHC was announced, there were more than a few posters on there who weren't even aware we had made the tournament in recent years, not playing the "Miami gets no respect card" but you have to be pretty ignorant of hockey outside the WCHA to not have noticed us in the draw 7 years in a row. Then again there are some dense ones who chime in on hockey convos on MHT, so I guess we can't really talk.
