I never did. Being short, my shirt pockets were too small.

Watching the SLU-RPI football game (sponsored by 7-11's Slurpee ;) ) Boring game, but great video coverage by RPITV and audio by WRPI.

I had posted the halftime score 25-7 on the off season thread with RPI leading. RPI TV is spoiling me-what an incredible job of broadcasting.

Since DrD is posting football info, I will add that the the women's hockey team is leading UConn 1-0 early. Yesterday UConn and RPI tied 4-4 with UConn coming back from a 4-1 deficit. Interestingly, all five goals to date have been by three frosh.

How old do you think I am, ADad? I'd be shocked if half the people I graduated with even knew what a pocket protector was!

He just hopes everyone is older than him because he is an old man!

Ended with us up 46-29 and amassing over 600 total yards of offense. Now the schedule starts to get tougher-Rochester/Hobart/Springfield/Union. We will need to play well each week. This RPI team has some talent on offense but for some reason they just look small (except at QB) when they match up against many of the teams. Hobart will present a real problem as their offensive line is huge and they seem to run over everyone they face.

Nice thread title! By the way, the Field House has another new addition-what I'm assuming is a Slovakian flag, hanging with the American and Canadian ones at the west end.

Good effort by the team tonight against a team with 5 games under its belt. It's always hard to judge games against Canadian teams and there were some breakdowns (Leonard was a rock in most of the games I attended last year and tonight it took only 5 min. for his first missed assignment) but I was generally satisfied. I predict that Mark Miller will be a fan favorite before the year is over. He's all hustle and has some skills, although he may not be a significant goal corer.

Mark Miller kind of reminded me of Scotty Halpern, who BTW was in the house tonight.

Sorry-I was posting on my phone from the Field House. Still don't have a picture...FlagDUDE's right, you can see it in the anthems, and Without a Peer tweeted a picture of it before the game.

WOW, that was fun! I read through the score thread, and just wanted to add my thoughts. Even though the game was close for a long while, I think it was much better than last year. Acadia looked better, and we looked better against them. We played as a team for most of the game. Lots of two-man plays were set up, and came close to scoring. Lots of communication going on. The goalies looked strong; I agree Diebold was probably the best.

Ralph, Bokenfohr may have played golf earlier this morning, I don't know, but he, Fulton, and O'Grady (scratches) were all at the Field House getting in an extra bike workout before the game. I saw them heading to ECAV during Fan Fest around 12:30 too, so they may have been planned scratches for a day or too (obviously O'Grady is injured).

They looked off in the beginning of the game for sure, but that seemed to go away a bit as they settled in. Miller impressed me the most hustle wise. He looked like the anti-laliberte (whom did had a nice one timer today) out there.

Kasdorf is quite imposing looking in net. He didn't seem to get tested too much as most of the shots seemed to hit him square in the chest, however that may be a function of him being gigantic. Also, the team as a whole was playing better hockey in the 3rd. Diebold got absolutely walked on the breakaway goal he gave up, but had some nice saves including back to back rebounds and point blank range. I'm curious how the goalie thing is going to play out.

Neal had a great game as well, he was a strong presence all over the ice and notched 3 points.

Worst performance of the night was by far and away turned in by the girls soccer team in the concession stand. They served me some curly fries which i'm pretty sure were sitting on a counter in the snack bar since the last home game, and cold cheese sauce. Definitely worth the 20 minute wait in line.

At least they scored some goals. They're going to get lit up like and old christmas tree next weekend.
