You already can tell MU has strong goaltending two weeks in? Hmm...

A monkey could have told me Michigan was going to have problems. They are replacing the greatest goaltender in program history who was 25 with an 18 year old freshman.

This Big Ten thing is looking like a real Power Conference! Only one team, Minnesota, is over .500. The rest of the league is a combined 28-44-15. Don't blame Penn State. They are 3 under against D-I competition, just like Michigan and Wisconsin. Michigan State is 6 under and Ohio State, 1 under. What's amazing is that these schools are among the biggest budgeted, best attended, most historic and most prestigious institutions in college hockey, yet they are struggling against the Ferris States, Minnesota Makatos and Northern Michigans of the hockey world. Yep. Big Time there!

Somehow, Davy lost his paddle and is stuck on the island of misfit programs and is bitter about it. Tsk.

No bitterness at all. Actually, I'm one of those who thinks it will be better for the "mid-majors" of college hockey and improve their chances of making the Sweet 16. The misfits are the big money, big name programs that can't win.

Wishful thinking. Michigan is having their first bad season in 22 years. And they'll still find a way to make the tournament.

No need to fix with "this season." Ohio State, under .500 five of the last seven seasons (including this one), Michigan State, under .500 overall since winning it all in 07. Wisconsin, under .500 in 3 of 6 seasons since they last won the NCAA, Minnesota was great last year and looks better this year, but for the previous 4 years, they were barely a .500 team and the keyboard rattlers were calling for his head. Only Michigan has been a consistent winner in recent history.
