Well it is about time I start this years contest which is in its 13th (I think) season. And now that I am retired I really need something to do with my free time :) .

Kepler is the defending champion in the contest, just nudging out yours truly by a scant 4 points. The contest is easy. Pick the ECAC Standings at the end of the 2012-2013 season in order from 1-12 (no ties). Playoff seedings determine the position of the teams incase of a regular season tie. You accumulate points based on the difference squared of the position you pick for each team vs the teams actual finish. If you pick RPI first and they finish first you accumulate 0 points. If they finish 2nd, you accumulate 1 point, 3rd 4 points, 4th 9 points etc. LOWEST SCORE IS THE WINNER . You have until the puck drops on the first 4 League Games on Friday Nov 2 at 7PM to get your picks in.

Tie breakers are:

Pick correctly the ECACHL Regular Season Champ.
Have the most teams in the correct order of finish.
Have the most top 6 teams in the correct order of finish.
I will flip a coin .

You can change your picks at any time up till the drop of the puck of the first league game, however DO NOT EDIT THE ORIGINAL PICKS . Just put up a new post with your change.

What the hell, I'm bored, so I'll give it a shot even though I don't root for an ECAC team. Also, (shameless plug) ECAC fans, you should sign up for Fantasy College Hockey!

OK, time for some picks.

1. Cornell. Just... they're Cornell.
2. Ylae*. I just have this feeling that they'll be sorely underestimated.
3. Hahvahd. Only this time, not so many ties. Too many returning top guns, and I'd give them an outside chance at playing for the Beanpot championship.
4. Quinnipiac. A little change from normal proceedings, stick them in the first-round bye slot instead of the middle. They return a lot.
5. RPI. A bounce-back season after seeing some light in actually winning a playoff series for once, but the curse of the Union Rule continues.
6. #26 Union. I pick them 8th, and they make the tournament. I pick them 10th, and they make the Frozen Four. No way in heck would I EVER consider picking them dead last.
7. Dartmouth. Always in the middle.
8. Princeton. I think they may surprise some people.
9. Colgate. They've lost SO much, and I just have a feeling it's downhill this year.
10. Brown. After a halfway decent start last year, right back to the bottom.
11. SLU. Joe Marsh isn't there any more.
12. Clarkson. No, I did not do this by design. Yes, it's incredibly painful to see the North Country teams in the basement, even as an RPI fan.

This is my sad attempt at what I think will be the end results of the ECAC season. Like always use this for entertainment purposes only. It is not my fault if you bet your life savings on this.

Quinnipiac may be the biggest sleeper this year, LOTS of offense, good coach and goalie. Union and Cornell, still the best of the league, I would not be surprised to see the top three separated by one or two games at the end. I have no idea what Yale will do, and being a big fan, that scares me, I will be very happy with fourth for the Eli.

Thanks for the submission. I do like #1 in the Random Number poll. If only they can live up to this lofty expectation ;) .
