Apparently, the ACC has a thriving hockey league that I was unaware of.

You don't visit the club threads often, do you? ;)

They do mention in the article that the ACC does not have D-I hockey. However, I'm beginning to wonder if they have since edited this article.

Notre Dame is the odds-on favorite to win the ACC hockey league championship this year. N.D. should automatically qualify for the playoffs. This ACC deal looks like a shrewd move by the bean counters at Notre Dame.

ESPN doesn't care about hockey.

Especially the one poster that commented that Notre Dame should be required to join in all sports, including football.

Well school(s) that play in the ACC have won more national championships in hockey than everyone else combined the last 5 years

Looks like my jokes about a BEHC should now be replaced by an ACCHC (especially if UConn ends up jumping ship as well).

There actually is (or at least was) a thriving Atlantic Coast College Hockey League (ACCHL) on the club level with UNC, NC State, UVA, GT, Duke, and Va Tech plus a few non-ACC but geographically close schools.

Then that would make them the odds-on favorite to win the Hockey East championship as well. Bold statement. ;)
