Announcement (http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2012/08/10_ecac_returning_to_lake_placid.php) will be next Tuesday.

It looks like a 3-year deal (2014, 2015, 2016).

I would have liked to see Providence given a shot, but hey, that's just because I'm from there. :) LP is the rightful home of this tournament.

Good news. Lake Placid is a great location. There's the bobsled run, the ski jump and the ski slopes when you're not watching a hockey game, and the ambience of two past Olympics is a further attraction.

However, LP is a heck of a lot better than Atlantic City.

Went to last year's Division III final @ LP and was impressed with how ORDA ran the thing. Will also be going in 2013 and the 2014 combined D-I/III National Championships in Philly.

Best news in years. Lake Placid should host the ECACs every year forever.

Haven't been on this forum in quite a few months and what a pleasant surprise to come back to. Lake Placid was/is and forever will be the best choice to be the host of the ECAC Championships.

As an outsider, I'm just looking at the finalists. Seems to me most fans of the ECAC would prefer Lake Placid or Albany over Providence/Atlantic City. Is that fair to say? If so, which do you prefer? LP or Albany?

You can pretty much get the answer you want from this thread below, most thought that Albany makes the most sense geographically, but Lake Placid had more in the way of amenities and atmosphere.
It seemed that most would also rather go to Providence rather than back to Albany, a more vibrant downtown scene there.

If you've ever been to Lake Placid, you don't need to read these things. Has everything but proximity. Amen !

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it: In Lake Placid, the ECAC tourney is truly an event. Great to see the league recognize the need to stop the bleeding.

Lake Placid, went every year I could. Live 10 miles from Albany (TUC) It just never felt right there.
Too many hookers in AC......big distraction

Too many hookers in AC......big distractionThis (http://www.lakeplacidhorseshow.com/pdfs/Lake_Placid_Horse_Show_Schedule_2012.pdf) is the #5 listing if you Google "Lake Placid hookers."

I'd say that pretty much says it all.

I saw a rugby club or two mentioned in the Press Republican the other day (even though LP would normally view the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, P-R comes out of Plattsburgh), so there is that for hookers as well. ;)

Ugh, can you have too many hookers from which to choose?

If you're the coach of a rugby team holding a tryout, yes.

Thank you, ECAC! I can't wait to be back in LP watching the tournament, whether or not my team is there. It feels like home for the ECAC and there's no place I'd rather watch a hockey game (other than Appleton!).
