      Same with me.
Expectation has the encumberance of truth while hope lives its own life, wild and free.

Why do we need a 12th?

            A valid question.

I dont think we needed an 11th... but now that we dohave 11 I think 12 makes more sense than 11.. at least from a schedule purpose.

I have a pet peeve about having unbalanced schedules, and I dont see them doing a 20 game conference schedule with 11 teams in the league. With 12 they would likely do 22 conference games... hopefully they don't go 24 or 26 making the schedule unbalanced.

It makes scheduling a whole heck of a lot easier.

How come Merrimack Women will receive an auto spot to Hockey East because their Men are already there but UCONN men don't even though their women's team is a member of Hockey East?

Because UConn is an associate member.

Full members get their other team in automatically and associate members don't.

Thinking also that associate members may not have a formal vote with the possible exception on economic issues that would directly affect them.

                            Because it's women's hockey

Yes, but what determines whether a school is an associate or full member? I mean, it's a one-sport conference; a school has zero, one, or two teams in the conference, period, and we've already established that you don't need two teams to be a full member.

The men's league was established first, so all of those schools became full members. When the women's league was formed later those schools that played in it but not the men's league became associate members. Of course, the latter included only Connecticut.
