That is something I have asked about, and have not received a response yet. My guess is that current injuries are something that they have as part of the intangibles. If/When I find out, I'll post it here.

Thanks for the link FS23, that's a cool exercise.
Considering UAH's short NCAA history, that's about right for us, too.

            The Afternoon games have finished...

            In Boston...
            Boston University - 4
            St. Cloud State - 2

A 2-2 game after 2, BU scored two goals in the first half of the third period, and held on to advance to the Sweet 16 in Worcester. SCSU made a ferocious push at the end, but BU was up to the task.

            In Grand Forks...
            North Dakota - 3
            Bemidji State - 2

Down 2-1 entering the third period, the Sioux battled, and staged an epic comeback, scoring two goals in the final 5 minutes to win 3-2. North Dakota advances to the Sweet 16 in St. Paul.

            In East Lansing...
            Notre Dame - 4
            Michigan State - 1

The Spartans could rally no further, and the Irish get the victory 4-1. The win sends Notre Dame to the Sweet 16 in Green Bay.

            In Orono...
            Maine - 6
            Air Force - 3

Air Force rallied to keep things interesting, scoring two early third period goals to make it 5-3, but Maine sealed the game with an empty netter to advance to the Sweet 16 in Green Bay 6-3.

Sacred Heart played much better after their January sweep at the hands of RIT, 10-0 and 3-0. After that they really turned things around. 7-1 is totally possible.

                          just like that.

and I was thinking, when I read the title, ... then the everyone-gets-a-trophy mentality would have won.

                              1) No.
                              2) I don't own an X-box
                              3) I have zero say/control over the outcomes. CHW has a simulator/predictor that they use to come up with scores for these hypothetical games.

The Badgers and the Bulldogs are going to overtime in Duluth. Wisconsin scored what they thought was the game winner towards the end of regulation, but Duluth tied it up in the waning seconds to force overtime.

In Kalamazoo, we have a final:
                                Western Michigan - 4
                                Harvard - 2

Harvard pulled within 1 early in the third, but Western put the game away with a late third period goal, and the Broncos hung on to the 4-2 lead for the victory.

In Denver, the game remains scoreless through regulation, and the Pioneers and the Falcons are headed to overtime.

In Big Rapids, Alaska has stormed back to tie the game at three, and the Nanooks and Bulldogs are headed to overtime. Ferris State scored a third straight goal midway through the third to give FSU a 3-1 lead, but Alaska pulled their goalie and scored twice in the final minutes of regulation to tie the game.

The final games for the day are up next:
