In case you missed it, nhl.com has been listing the best players alphabetically Hall of Famer Glenn Anderson was the runner up for "A".
Runner-up: Glenn Anderson
Though overshadowed by some of his teammates during the dynasty years of the Edmonton Oilers, the Hall of Famer scored 499 goals and won six Stanley Cups -- five with the Oilers and another in 1994 with the New York Rangers.
Anderson led DU in scoring his first and last year at DU. 41GP 26-29-55 in the 1978-79 season.
Only 42 players in history with 500 or more goals, Glenn is at #43 all time. The Great One by far leads with 894 goals, 93 more than Gordie Howe at #2 and 153 more than Brett Hull at #3. Only 3 active players with 500 or more goals: Jagr and Selanne at #'s11 and 12 and Iginla at #35. No other current players are within 50 of 500. Maybe Glenn should suit up for one more game to get #500.
Single game tickets for the 2012-13 Denver Pioneer hockey team go on sale Saturday, Sept. 8 at 9 a.m. MT
Top Recruiting classes for this year. We didn't make the top 10, but...
Under Consideration Denver
Five Freshman Notables: Dakota Mermis (D), Quentin Shore (F), Nolan Zajac (D), Gabe Levin (F), Grant Arnold (F)
The Skinny: A very strong class that should see most, if not all, stay for four seasons
(Garrett Allen is our other recruit this year)
Early look at next year's recruiting classes:
#5 Denver
Five Freshman Notables: Will Butcher (D), Trevor Moore (F), Connor Chatham (F), Landon Smith (F), Ray Pigozzi (F)
The Skinny: Will Butcher is the National Team Development Program’s best defensemen this season and could very easily be a first round pick at June’s NHL Draft. All five should have a large impact for their respective USHL team this season.
"Deep in the Heart of Texas, the stars shine bright..."
Drew Shore in San Antonio
Jason Zucker in Houston
John Ryder in Austin
Now Anthony Maiani in Allen, which is in the Dallas area
( DU alum Erik Allen played here the past 3 years.)
Sorry Drew and Jason, the NHL lockout will make the AHL your home for now

Jason's gonna have some serious adjustments to make: both weather and traffic like Bangkok.

Here's something new for y'all....I was just informed, by a certain WCHA Linesman who I happen to know... that the NCAA is going to a no goal judge system this year, just like the NHL does. This allows the schools to put 2 or 3 seats back there and sell them.... behind the goalies. It also puts all the trust, and blame, on the video review..... which DU has had difficulty with in the past. All the goal judge does is turn on the red light in the arena for the fans; remember all the stink a couple years ago at the buzzer, when UW was here? Holy crap what a PR nightmare. The on-ice referees run that **** from zero to 60, just like in the AHL. When the zebra points... a goal scored. What part of that don't people understand?
I want to be a fan of the best team in college hockey - so that explains why I am a DENVER fan!

I believe it is optional to have an actual goal judge starting this year and, yes, DU will not be having them. Apparently, the "goal judges" will sit in the press box with buttons to turn on the lights from now on. DU had many issues with the replay system last year, so we'll see how this one turns out in the long run...
