Nice article with a short video about former DUer Tom "The Kid" Zajac and his hockey playing sons. The youngest, Nolan, will be a freshman at DU next season.

In case you haven't noticed, DU Women's Golf is ahead by 12 strokes in the SBC tournament. A win tomorrow would be DU's 9th conscutive title.
In SBC tennis , DU men are seeded @1 and the Women are seeded #2. Spring sports must be catching on.

The Coliseum is a spectacular hockey venue! It has the rowdy feel of the Old Barn rather than the snootiness of Ritchie. It’s been host to the Denver Mavericks, Denver Invaders, Denver Spurs, Denver Rangers and let us not forget the Denver Pioneers!

The Coliseum was like a rink of last resort. When the old barn was declared uninhabitable and possibly when Ritchie was being built. Much better fit for the rodeo.

Does Hakstol's extension put more pressure on DU to Give Gwoz a new contract?

                          I wouldn't think so.

Now if UND fired Hakstol that would put tremendous pressure on DU for obvious reasons.

                            What is Gwoz's base?

Gwozdecky is under contract through 2014 with a base salary "between $200,000 and $250,000," according to his agent, Leigh Augustine.

Supposedly DU is working on long term deals for Gwozdecky & Tierney.

Interesting. My guess is that Gwoz would get bumped up to Hakstol-like numbers (read: $300k base)...or at the very least should get bumped up.
