Jay Z with his 1st NHL point tonight with an assist in the 1st period on Wild's 2nd goal. Wild trail Kings 3-2 at the end of the 2nd.

    From Wild Blog

16:15 - MIN 2 - LAK 1 - The action is fast and furious as Jason Zucker picks up his first-career point. Zucker drives the net, and runs into Bernier with the puck. The biscuit lays there for a second and Nick Johnson pops it into the oven for a goal. Wild action here to start!

Jay Z with his 2nd assist to help tie the game at 3 in the 3rd period.

      From Wild Blog

9:03 - MIN 3 - LAK 3 - Even Steven, as the Wild converts on a 3-on-3. Christensen crosses with Zucker and leaves a drop pass to the rookie. Zucker rips a wrist shot that is partially blocked on the way to the net. It deflects towards Christensen, who is going to the net and bounces off his skate and in the net.

The season is getting long for Wild fans, and Zucker is giving us something to be optimistic about. He looks fast and aggressive going to the net. He seems to stand out more skating with higher level players who can feed him and receive from him.

It's been such a long season that the Wild have a chance at a top five pick, but are blowing it by winning meaningless games. Go figure.
How do they expect us to throw hotdogs at the gophers with that [Expletive deleted] net in front of us?

Zucker made a terrific breakout pass in OT to spring Setaguchi that led to him getting pulled down and a penalty shot (which hit the post).

Let's not Forget Drew Shore who got an assist in his first game on the game tying goal for the San Antonio Rampage Fri. nite.
According to a Mike Chambers Tweet, Drew's 3 year contract is for $900k per year and begins next year.

So he's on an ATO with San Antonio. Unlike Jay Z, the Panthers weren't willing to burn a year of his contract and have him play in the NHL this season.

Anyone remember a player named Dave Hanson? He played at Denver '84-'88 and is from Grand Forks. I've played in a couple men's league tournaments in Fargo recently and he was playing defense with me. Great guy, still moves pretty well on the ice and has a bit of a mean streak! Just wonderin...

Knew him and know him well. Great guy who was very popular at DU.

He was a 4th round pick by the Flyers who seemed destined for the NHL. But what happens to really big early developing players in Juniors like Hansen and Paukovich is that the rest of the kids eventually catch up to them size by adulthood and the massive size/strength advantage becomes neutralized.

Scored 26 goals and had 52 assists as a forward who was built like a defenseman and played on DU's Frozen Four team in '86. He had to be the stongest guy on the team.
