Hey JohnN, the "boys" wanted me to let you know that they have left Northern Quebec for the warmer climate of the Cayman Islands. They are enjoying themselves, but are waiting to hear if the next round will be on TV so that they can catch the games.

By the way, "Alex" and "Andrew" were disappointed that UAH lost since they are "big" CHA fans. "George", "Abe" and "Ben" were just happy that they made the tourney.

I smell a rat here. Clarkson had to draw Denver . An EZAC team against a WZHA team. Chalk up another loss.

Geez, I thought the semi's and the finals were supposed to be at MSG. How are we going to grow this very worthwhile tournament unless it gets to the Big Apple?

I must say that I like the idea of the Knights playing at home, however. Just as long as it is not another OT game. The ECAC chat room could not handle another one of those.

Unhappy

I'm real sorry here. I rushed over to the library to post since my connection at home is down. We can't run the game tonight. We'll reschedule for Friday.

Sorry again.

Thumbs up

We're going for a 7:30 Eastern start in Omaha. Should be a great game. FS-New England was showing a lot of early interest in the game. A scheduling snafu [Bob Norton wasn't available] almost got NH Public TV involved, but at the last minute [this afternoon, actually] everything cleared out and the game will be on Fox Sports New England!

The game is sold-out. The NIT committee is loving these ticket buying UNO fans. Over 7,000 will be in the arena tonight.

------------------

Clarkson was the surprise choice to host tomorrow night for a couple of reasons. First, there were some scheduling problems in Denver and secondly, the committee likes to reward first round road winners if possible to give the NIT maximum on-campus exposure.

-------------

Talked to a scalper in Omaha this morning. $95 for a decent seat. If you don't have a ticket, bring your wallet!!

Arrow

Warm weather has the Maverick fans excited as they enter the arena. 8,314 tickets have been sold and all are expected to be used.

And by the way, yes a full slate of between period promotions are planned.

The crowd is rocking in Omaha. It appears there are only two empty seats. Will they "rush" them?

Anyway, the puck has dropped. Ty Conklin is in the visiting blue of UNH. UNO has Dan Ellis in the net.

Both sides are feeling their non-conference opponents out early. UNH has had the better of the early shots, but no real good opportunities.

9:03 left in the first.

Referee Mike Riley [WCHA] hasn't been too busy, no penalties and not a lot of rough play.

The big crowd hasn't gotten a chance to get into the game yet.

The pass to the top of the slot... It's in the net, GOAL New Hampshire!!

Joshua Prodden breaks a scoreless tie with a wrister at 17:02 of the first from Martz and Hayder.
