Way to join in the officiating bashing. A credible reporter and one who knows the game of hockey knows officials dont win or loose games. Air Force played a tremendous game and you and others are taking that away from them by blaming it on the officials. very very poor decision!

Re: Twice Shy

I agree with Jim's comments on the officiating. Miami scored its late third-period tying goal while on a power play because of too many men on the ice. A comparable or even more eggregious too many men on the ice situation in overtime was not called on Miami. The one penalty called in overtime (on Air Force) also seemed dubious when compared to non-calls throughout.

Sometimes when one team gets five power plays and the other only one, it's justified. Not so in this case.

The officiating in this game, though by a highly respected crew, did not deliver a level playing field.

Jim did not blame the loss on the Officials, he said very correctly that they battled the officials. Which is something many teams have to do every night. Its part of the game, sometimes you have to beat bad officiating. That doesn't mean the ref is bias just that he having a bad night. As a player turned official myself, I have to say that is a very true statement...
