As much as I want Jeff Lerg to get the award, I have to say that Kevin Porter is the guy who should win. That's hard for a Spartan to say.

It was like the author had no idea who he is and didn't want to bother doing much research on Lambert. We have a player that was recruited when RIT was a DIII program to become one of the better players in the NCAA. You think that would be a nice compelling story to go on.

Porter has it all wrapped up? After Lamoreux's performance this weekend, I'm not so sure.

Re: Assessing The Hobey Hopefuls
I am betting Porter has it wrapped up but Lammy made a pretty good case for himself this past weekend.

I know he would be a huge long shot at winning but the author was almost like "come on, Atlantic hockey, he is lucky I am going to mention him in this article." I guess a player who was recruited to play D3, Captains our team in only our second full year at D1, is 2nd in the nation in scoring when his season ends, is first team all conference two years in a row, graduates early with a 3.7 GPA his senior year(3.43 overall) with a engineering degree in a school with a quarter system, and finds time to do community service doesn't really ya know represent what the Hobey is about... I mean its not like other guys like Oshie who have a criminal record or something

The author is telling us to be unbiased when he gives thrown together write ups to two finalists, Lambert and the kid from Princeton. Maybe he should learn what being unbiased is first before telling us to be unbiased.

And Porter didn't factor in on 6 of 7 of Michigan's goals this weekend?
Lamoreux was great, but Porter did enough this weekend where he shouldn't have lost any ground.
