Post Men's NCAA D-III Bids Announced

Re: Men's NCAA D-III Bids Announced

Why is it that Elmira, ranked fourth, plays it's first game against a lower seeded, "play-in" team (winner of the 13th and 14th ranked teams) and Plattsburgh, ranked second, has to play a top ten ranked team (7th ranked) in it's first game? Elmira received an at large bid while Plattsburgh beat the defending national champion and earned their spot.

They are playing the lower seed because they were the number one seed overall in the East. And dont you dare try to say that they did not play the toughest schedule in the country. They deserved that seed regardless of if they had won on Saturday or not.......FIRRREEEEEEEE

Elmira beat Plattsburgh & Oswego. Much deserved high seed... My question is why the NCAA did not include the 7th ranked defending national champions in a ten team field? Do we want the best teams in the tournement? This is not D - 1 b'ball, where 65 teams get in.

Elmira beat Plattsburgh, head to head, fair and square and they are a really good team. However, please explain how Plattsburgh and Manhattenville end up ranked higher in the final poll but Elmira plays a 13th and/or 14th seed in the first round while Plattsburgh plays #7 Hobart.

That does not seem right...but these tournys always have some nuance to them.

Anyhow...to be the best you need to beat the best, so I really don't care who the heck Plattsburgh plays or when. They will beat them all, you watch. 52 miles away if they make LP. See you there!

Go Cardinals!
