Post Jon Barkan Passes Away
College Hockey lost a dear friend with the passing of Jon Barkan earlier today. Jon was taken from us far too early, with so much more left to give to the world. In his 39 years Jon brightened our days and made each and every one of us a better person with everything that he did, not only in college hockey but with everyday life. Tears are splashing on my keyboard.

Jon was a colleague, a good friend for 20 years and was a guest at my wedding.

The greatest thing about Jon was his spirit - his undeniable power to make everyone around him enjoy life.

Just too sad to type anymore right now.

RIP, Jon.

I met Jon in 1989 when we were both students at Northeastern. Jon had a real passion for all sports...but especially college hockey. He was a huge booster of the game and will be missed. 39 is way too young.
