Thanks. Shamrocks fell to Balmoral Hall 7-2 today. Game was 0-0 after one, and 2-1 Balmoral after two. The flood gates opened midway through the third, as Balmoral potted goals four, five, and six in a five minute span, then added the final goal with 20 seconds left on the clock.

So how has this League evolved - is everyone happy with the competition and what are plans for 2009-2010? Did the League place a lot of girls at D1? Shamrocks look to be the weaker team is this because there are other options for girls in Boston or did they just get started late in forming a strong club. I saw some of the action last fall when the teams were in the Twin Cities and was very impressed.

Re: Junior Women's Hockey League(JWHL)
Thought the concept of an East & West division worked good. Unfortunately this means the teams in the west are not seen as often as those in the east by most D1 & CIS schools
20/20/20 min periods are great.
Boston needs to work on their hosting skills as their weeknd was a bit disorganized. Ref's not on time for games and not posting scores at the various rinks used so people can track the weekend.

Work on their hosting skills? Pahleese.
Although there was a slight snafu with the refs during the first morning games at BU, the weekend hosted by the Shamrocks was the only one in which there were score/time keepers and penalty box attendents paid for by the host, rather than dragging parents out of the stands. As for the posting of scores, I don't know about out west, but none of the other weekends in the east have had scores posted. And as I understand it there were none posted in Minnesota at either Ridder or Marriuci.

Great picture and that was a "balmy" 45 degrees. I think the natives of Grand Forks call that summer.

Re: Junior Women's Hockey League(JWHL)
The Boston Shamrocks are pleased to announce the addition of former Providence College standouts Sarah Feldman and Cherie Hendrickson to our coaching staff.
Tryouts for the Boston Shamrocks, including the new full season U17 team that will compete in the Red Division of the JWHL, will be held at Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington, Mass on April 11 and 12. The tryout fee is $75 for preregistered players, and $100 for walk-ups. More information and a tryout registration form is available on the Shamrocks' website.

Any word on whether new teams will be added next year?

Re: Junior Women's Hockey League(JWHL)
I'm hearing one team will be added to both the east and the west and both of them are very strong teams. Stay tuned for official announcements.
