You are right on the money Bill. He was supposed to be there but something happened and a year after that he arrived in Norwich. Further to that Oswego's captain Woodward was a Norwich recruit for the 2003-04 season but assistant coach Mattson dropped the ball and he went to Oswego where he had gone in 2001 and left prior to the season to complete his last 2 years of junior in the OPJHL.

Re: D3 Players in the Pros

Kurtis McLean scored two goals including the game winner in OT for Wilkes-Barre against Hersey. Fromt the success Kurtis has had I would say D3 hockey is a great place to get ready for the pro hockey.

Dennis Sicard, who played half a semester with Buffalo State last season and was an accomplished pugilist in the OPJHL has found a home this year with the Richmond Renegades of the Southern Pro League. He has 140 penalty minutes in 19 games. To see Sicard in action hockeyfights.com/players/7478/fightcard/reg2008

Re: D3 Players in the Pros

I think there are quite a few players in D-3 right now that have the skill set to play professionally. Being a Hobart fan for a number of years I am very optimistic about their team this season for alot of reasons but the one that has me most excited is their D-1 sophomore transfer Nick DeCroo. This kid is dynamic player and his size offensive skills will draw alot of interest from pro scouts. He is a special talent that should be playing at a top-tier D-1 program. Glad we found him!

He was at Bentley if my memory serves me correctly....what happened there? He played in over half the games so I would say he is a good player, but not someone that should be at a "top tier" D1 program.

SNC Alumni Spencer Carbery is playing for the Stockton Thunder in the ECHL. Maybe him and Dietsch will cross paths.

Nick Toneys is with Augusta Lynx also a ECHL team.

Re: D3 Players in the Pros

Cool little article on nhl.com about Norwich's own Kurtis McLean becoming a big part of the Pittsburgh Penguins' AHL franchise...Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

McLean becoming a bigger piece of the puzzle

Also, Manhattanville alum Jay Chrapala has signed an ECHL contract according to govaliants.com with the South Carolina Sting Rays of the ECHL!

The article also gives an update on former Valiant standout Andrew Gallant who's been awesome for the Arizona Sundogs of the CHL posting a 12-3-1-1 record and a .908 save percentage.

Kudos to both of them for continuing their careers.

An article which talks about Kurtis McLean winning goal for Wilkes-Barre Penguins. He is having a very good year so far in the AHL.
