Collegehockeystats.net question

At the Mercyhurst/Yale game today, we were talking in the pressbox about www.collegehockeystats.net and how great a website it is. I asked who runs that site, and nobody knew. There is no advertising and I was wondering how they can afford the bandwidth. They do a great service compiling stats and keeping the archive.

So who runs collegehockeystats.net? Not knocking the site, I love it. I was just wondering.

I have no idea either and have wondered the same. My guess is probably some math nerd who teaches college level statistics.

Re: Collegehockeystats.net question

Pretty sure the mastermind is Tim Danehy, who used to be the webmaster/stats guru for the ECAC when Joe Bertagna was running things.

Re: Collegehockeystats.net question

As far as I understand, it's the official place to report ice hockey stats, so I figure it's at least partially subsidized by either the NCAA or the hockey conferences.

It was fun for a season.

I'm not sure about the math thing, but nerd he is not. Tim is a great hockey guy, and has made a lot of Sports Information Directors jobs a ton easier.

I believe MICZamboni was referring to me, as I teach statistics and I am a nerd.

I was referring to LakersFan as I do know him. Actually, far from a nerd.

bakerrink is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Collegehockeystats.net question

After each game, the host school's sports information person uploads a stats file into the collegehockeystats system and it updates everything from there.
