I'm curious to see what people think about how long Minn. St. will hold on to the belt this year. They have N. Dakota this weekend then Bemidji the following week. I think they will hold it until the Wisconsin series in the middle of Nov. Any thoughts?

I think they will lose it to North Dakota. I don't think they will be as revved up and focused!

MicZ,
I say Minn St. goes undefeated until they meet the Gophs.
As I predicted long ago the top 3 will be OSU, Minn St and UM.
Only time will tell

Makato has the belt back after losing it only briefly over the weekend. I still believe Wisconsin will be the next to have it for any period of time other than over night. Binnyrus called it right on when he predicted losing it to North Dakota. I am just not sure if he meant the first series they played or this past weekend.

Wisconsin now holds the championship belt. It should be safe until the series with Deluth on Dec. 5. Congrats.

As predicted, Wisconsin carries the belt to the DECC.

How about this....
Wisconsin is guaranteed the belt for at least another month since there next game is on Jan. 10. That does seem like a long time to be off though. I wonder if that will hurt there team with such a long lay off.

Forget opinion polls, PWR, RPI, and NCAA playoff implications. Wisconsin still holds the belt, and nothing else matters.

Minnesota now holds the belt, but I think they'd rather have the WCHA lead.

If the NCAA championship trophy is not motivation enough, the winner will also receive a fine (though somewhat mythical) championship belt.

ARM,
Thanks for finding that. I was thinking about that this morning and was going to post this by the weekend. Who will hold the most coveted belt in all of college sports?

Re: Championship Belt
Am I correct that the Gophers are the current holders of the belt?

The reason for the talent in the west? Because MN didn't rely on Canada.

Re: Championship Belt
After a short trip to Dartmouth the belt quickly goes back to Minnesota.
