I can't get into ANY news sites. If anyone has any information, please post it here. I know little. I did see a very dramatic photo of the second plane crashing on MSNBC before the site went down.

FBI investigating reports of hijacking

NEW YORK -- Planes crashed into the upper floors of both World Trade Center towers minutes apart Tuesday in a horrific scene of explosions and fires that left gaping holes in the 110-story building.

There was no immediate word on injuries or fatalities in the twin disasters, which happened shortly before 9 a.m. and then right around 9 a.m.

In Washington, officials said the FBI was investigating reports of a plane hijacking before the crashes.

The towers were struck by bombers in February 1993.

"The plane was coming in low and ... it looked like it hit at a slight angle," said Sean Murtagh, a CNN vice president, the network reported.

Large holes were visible in sides of the 110-story buildings, landmark twin towers.

"I was watching TV. and heard a sonic boom ...," witness Jeanne Yurman told CNN. "The side of the world trade center exploded. Debris is falling like leaflets. I hear ambulances. The northern tower seems to be on fire."

The tops of the twin towers were obscured by the smoke.

Thousands of pieces of what appeared to be office paper came drifting over Brooklyn, about three miles from the tower, one witness said.

The center bombing on Feb. 26, 1993, killing six people and injured more than 1,000 others.

In 1945, an Army Air Corps B-25, a twin-engine bomber, crashed into the 79th floor of the Empire State Building in dense fog.

... I am told by a co-worker that the one of the two towers hit is used as a communications hub for the media... that is one reason why access is hard... some international media services may be down.

Two small planes impacted the World Trade Center aroudn the 20th floor, so far, no one has claimed responsibility...

We don't know for sure it's Iraq but it's a pretty safe bet they were involved. Probably Bin Laden too. Obviously you don't take action until you know for sure who was involved but the price better be tenfold for what happened today.

According to the radio station I'm listening to, one of the planes that hit was an American Airlines flight from Boston (a 767 airliner). My God, this is horrible.

They're saying all airports in the United States are shut down. All air traffic is being forced to land. All tunnels into Manhatten are being closed.

It's being reported that Boston skyscrapers are being evacuated right now.

one of the planes was an american airlines plane out of boston, headed for california. the other is believed to be a united airlines that is missing. both believed to be hijacked.

a plane or helicopter crashed into one side of the pentagon. and another explosion just occurred in the second world trade tower, either inside, or the building collapsing. from what i just saw, it looked like it collapsed.
