ECAC is 0-3 and all three of its teams, with up to 1 minute left in the Ohio State contest, had only scored 1 goal. Pretty terrible showing. Next year the ECAC should be much stronger.

One might have thought Cornell or Clarkson would have advanced, Princeton perhaps not as likely. Still, three teams in the tournament was impressive.
Speaking of next year, how about this far fetched scenario. Nate Leamon leaves Providence for the Minnesota job. Who is Driscoll’s first call to? Rick Bennett then leaves Union for his alma mater. Kris Mayotte is part of the Minnesota package but is offered the Union job, becoming head coach at his alma mater. Definitely far fetched.
Finally, Ron Fogarty’s success at Princeton, after his run at DIII Adrian, evokes memories of Bill Tierney’s arrival and what he accomplished with the Princeton lacrosse program. The Tigers are here to stay. The always competitive ECAC will be some dog fight next year, probably with this year’s NCAA gang and Union fighting for the title, not to mention a resurgent Colgate club. Oh yes, Harvard and Yale must figure in the picture. Can’t wait until October!

Next year the ECAC will be much stronger. I would expect a much better showing in non-conference play. Is there a weak ECAC team that will be rebuilding next year? Brown? Are we losing any goaltenders? A coaching shakeup is too difficult to contemplate. BU is the only one of the 7 eastern teams (HE, ECAC, AHA) still standing. If BU loses there will be no "Eastern Teams" in the F4. This was easily predicted at the early in the season. How does our incoming class look for next year?

With BU's loss, No eastern team (HE, ECAC, AHA) made it to the F4.

For 179 minutes of NCAA hockey, the three ECAC teams scored a total of 1 goal. ONE ****ING GOAL !!!! 0-3 was the worse record of any conference. Many teams are coming back largely intact and should be strengthen by incoming classes. Hopefully we willl be hungrier next year.

Any word on early departures? Probably would have heard by now. What does next years class look like?

Nice piece on Carr who will be an RFA this summer. He's just the kind of player the Habs need, but if the persistent front office bumbling continues in Montreal, another team will undoubtedly sign him as an undervalued bargain.

NY Post mentions Bennett - and others - as possibilities for the Rangers opening.

In the meantime, Spencer Foo is having fun in the NHL: 2 goals in 4 games.

Gostisbehere has 13 goals this season (52 assists)
                        Carr has 6 (10 assists)
                        Jooris has 3 (3 assists)

                        Other number to note:
Kinkaid save percentage is at 0.913
                        Let's go Union !
                        ECAC Regular season champion : 2010-11, 2011-12, 2013-14, 2016-17
                        ECAC Tournament champion : 2012, 2013, 2014
                        NCAA champion : 2014

Unless something comes out of the woodwork at summer camps (unlikely)
OR the coach gets an offer he can't refuse
                          - there won't be any early departures..

Since they can field a full playing roster without any freshman - baring injury - things look pretty good, but
there is some talent coming in that will fill in nicely ...

If they all work this summer - it should be a very good year...

Not sure the ECAC will be much stronger next year - quite a few early departures across just about every team
including some of those big body goalies. How they do non conference depends on who they decide to schedule..
If they are going to attempt a full on run I suspect they will front load the schedule yet again with Serious competition...

Union picked up a goalie recruit a few days ago, Garrett Nieto of Janesville (NAHL)

                              http://nahl.com/news/story.cfm?id=23884

His brother Gavin plays for Brown.

Hockey Commitments has Nieto coming this fall, which would give Union 4 goalies....
