I'm sure Coach Mad Again will have that one (or two?) circled on their schedule, for sure.

Bentley BOT just voted to spend $45 mil for an arena on campus, so there is some commitment from the top.

For as bad as the JAR is, I'll miss the ability to just rock up and pickup a cheap ticket and be able to stand next to the glass and see the play up close. Congrats to Bentley and the fans who pushed for a new rink on campus!

Ha, ha, ha; next to the glass at the close end is my favorite place to watch games at the JAR, too. But, as Bobby D sang, "The times are a-changin'."

Don't know if that was part of the design discussions or not, but it sure seems to be shy of HE standards. It is interesting how HE was specifically mentioned in the press release as one of part of their recent history.

Re: Bentley Begins Process to Build On-Campus Rink

In discussion with major decision makers, they were well aware of the capacity of the arena. When asked point blank if a move to ECAC/HE was considered in capacity, they confirmed that it was a part of the process.

That was 6 months ago, so; either that plan was scrapped or they know what they are doing and are confident this rink will be enough for a new conference. I know a conference change is of the highest priority for Bentley, so I'm betting on the latter. That being said, 2000 does seem small for HE. Stay tuned I guess......

If conference change is the highest priority, Bentley may have shot itself in the skate with that absurdly low seating capacity. Unless, of course, understandings that the rest of us aren't privy to were reached with various powers that be.

While I have no idea as to the outcomes, I can assure you these very conversations indeed happened.
