Critics of course seem to hate The Orville and I think this guy nails why they're wrong.

As many critics have pointed out, this isn't a spoof of Star Trek. It's not exactly an homage either. The best way I can describe it is that MacFarlane wanted to make a Star Trek show that recalls that franchise's earlier days, back before it became an action blockbuster film series and before the TV shows started becoming dark and grim and edgy. MacFarlane is making his own version of the original Star Trek, and he is a new Captain Kirk. All the optimism and sincerity and lightheartedness of that show is here, and in many ways it's kind of wonderful. I'm honestly surprised something like this exists.
I hate it when critics miss the point of things, like talking about how MacFarlane's character "doesn't feel like a real starship captain like Kirk." LOL, that's whole *ing point! He supposed to be a crappy captain!

Watched a couple of episodes of Norsemen last night on Netflix. Pretty well done parody of 8th century vikings. Norwegian made series with a humor you will recognize if you have Norskies in your family or home. Fun if you like that kind of humor (I did, but I'm one of them)--don't know how long it will remain funny, though.

I watched The Deuce on HBO tonight.

I'm not sold but there is great potential. I'm definitely going to watch episode 2. I'm trying to figure out where this thing is going or if it's just going to be another The Night Of.

The premier of the new season of AHS: The Cult (which is also "Murder House" on Fios?) was disturbing, all over the place, funny, and disturbing. Also disturbing. And funny. But mostly... you know.
