Don't think so, we saw the actual dead body in the throne room in the scene with Hux and Kylo. Luke's projection disappeared entirely when he was done.

if she's that powerful with the force, why the **** does she need Luke so bad? The opening crawl of TFA establishes that Luke is missing and the resistance is looking for him to come save the day.
Because of the symbol of Luke Skywalker, Jedi Legend who blew up the Death Star and killed Vader and the Emperor. The hero who rescued Han from Jabba's palace. The Statue of Liberty is more than just a giant hunk of copper off the New Jersey coast.

at least this movie didn't rely on as many coincidences as TFA
BB8 just _happens_ to come across some unknown Jedi while escaping from the First Order
The Falcon just happens to be on the same planet as Rey, and she flees in it
Han Solo just happens to be close enough to Jakku that he can pickup the falcon on his scanners and get to it before the First Order
Han brings Rey to Maz, who happens to have Luke's old light saber
randomly finding Rey in Star Killer Base
R2D2 just happens to wake up at exactly the right time and has the rest of the map
Because no movie has ever relied on coincidence before.

Ugarte just happens to murder the couriers and retrieve two exit visas
He just happens to bring them to Rick's
Victor and Ilsa just happen to also be at Rick's
Ilsa and Rick just happen to have a history together in Paris
"Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walks into mine." Quite a coincidence...

Having Rey be a Skywalker, Solo or Kenobi would have made it seem much smaller. Having Snoke be Palpatine or Plagueis would have made it much smaller. This is a coincidence that has occurred time and again in story after story.

Saw The Last Jedi for the second time this afternoon. Wow, it impressed me even more the second time around.

I have to say Ren and Luke's arcs are perfect. Rey and Yoda are perfect. My minor quibbles have largely dissipated.i'm shocked at how much more I loved this film on the 2nd go.

              My new rankings:
              Last Jedi A+
              ESB A+
              Rogue One A
              A New Hope A
              Force Awakens B+
              Return of the Jedi B
              Sith C-
              Clones D
              Phantom D
Everything in its right place, Wisconsin Hockey National Champs!

"but you're not as confused as him are you. it's not your job to be as confused as Nigel". Tap pt 1.

"I think it's ****ing stock. What--? Which part of that is unclear to you? I think it sounds stock to my ears. I mean, do you want me to write it down?" Tap Pt. 2

              Who???! So What!!!! Big Deal!!!!

Still haven't read any of that ^ and haven't run into any spoilers. Going tomorrow at 9:00 AM.

Watched Rogue One tonight for only the second time and I stand by my initial reaction that it is arguably the best Star Wars movie.

I won't call it the best, but I like it every bit as much as any of the others.

                Really geeked for tomorrow.

It's so tough beat Empire. Rogue was very good, though. You will not be disappointed in this new one.

                  • A few quick thoughts before I read anyone else's...

Kind of a rambling mess from a plot standpoint.

No.... I didn't have any trouble following it, just had unneeded side adventures.

The whole casino escapade was predictable and I found myself bored.

Also - I know it's become a running gag but how many times can the empire be infiltrated as a plot device?

I think it was good but suffered from trying to cram everybody's cool idea into one movie. Could have cut a solid 30 minutes and been better for it.

Loved Luke especially in the final confrontation and the "see you around kid." Ouch

Rae was quite good and I'm liking Kylo a lot more now too.

Finn was better in the first movie.

I have no problem with anything within the main story arc.

Was pretty sure that we were gonna find out that Rae and Kylo were twins but maybe they aren't going that direction.

Some cool action sequences too although much of the time I'm bored with action in any movie. Have seen it all before too much.

                      If note though...

The battle right after Snoke was killed. For a brief bit, was hoping those two would form a duo moving forward.

The cruiser cutting through the other ship at light speed.

The red salt was a neat touch.

That would be a hell of a labor for Leia, since they were born 10 years apart.

I thought I read a book many years ago where they were twins. Or rather than han and leia had twins.

Were they just brother and sister?

From my understanding, Disney is tossing any book-related material, others are MORE than welcome to correct me on this. This is what I heard from a co-worker last week. They are making their own story.

I've heard that but I think they might still make them siblings and I remembered them as twins.

It seems they have a connection of some sort beyond Snoke's machinations.
