Try again, a slightly older gen card for ~100$ or a newer closer to 200 will play any game out today. You're paying that for a hdd.
And as I said before, performance depends heavily on the code. Many of the games on computer that run poorly are bad ports from consoles, where the developers simply didn't care to optimize their code. GTA 4 is a great example of this, with the developer leaving the game engine enhanced for consoles that rely on processor power instead of the GPU. Requiring that you need at least a duel core processor to get decent performance.

The real question is why did you bother bringing it back up if you know we won't agree? Especially considering I never said I disliked PC gaming.
I guess for the sake of internet argument huh.

In a bit of bragging, I just got my first Platinum trophy on my PS3 on Uncharted 2. And to prove it I present my portable PSN ID:

Yeah that's one of the (many) things that I kinda scratch my head about my PS3. For all of Sony's dumb crap I can replace the HDD on mine with any regular 2.5 inch SATA HDD. One of my buddies put a freaking 1TB HDD in his. Why I don't know but hey he did!

I'm working on getting my first Platinum in Uncharted (I played the "wait until the sequal comes out so the original drops in price" game) - I have all of the medals except for finishing the game on Hard and Crushing (currently on the Hard playthrough) and three more "you've found X treasures" medals.
I'm sure I'll pick up Uncharted 2 sometime - maybe even before Uncharted 3 comes out!

Mainly it's because you continue to overstate how expensive it is to own a gaming computer, while considering shelling out for an entirely new console because your HDD is full.

I don't think $100 for a last gen video card (your statement) vs $120 for a HDD is overstating the fact that if you have to buy "anything" else for your PC, you are paying more than I am.
But continue to pretend as you wish.

Re: Official Video Games Thread IV: Super Alpha HD Remix 2009 Edition
Anyone know about a new Wii coming out in 2010?? Rumored to be HD, have access to Netflix, etc, etc.
Thinking about getting one, but may wait if this is the case. GameStop is offering Wii's for $149 with two qualified trade-ins.

I AM NEVER PLAYING EVERY EXTEND EXTRA EXTREME AGAIN.
R4 mode just made me waste 45 minutes of my life, only to kill me on level 96 of 100. 147th on the leaderboard though.

Re: Official Video Games Thread IV: Super Alpha HD Remix 2009 Edition
Dragon Age: Origins announced their 3rd DLC today. "Return to Ostagar" to be released between now and Christmas.
The first two DLC were released the same day as the game.
This is perfect timing as I have beaten the game once already.
