Cory Schneider is the nominee for AHL Player of the Week
This week, the Marblehead, MA native stopped 80 of 85 shots in three games played… Monday, Schneider stopped 31 of 32 shots to lead the Moose to a 2-1 overtime win, over the North Division rival Bulldogs… Then on Friday, he collected his first shutout of the season by stopping all 24 shots he faced in a 1-0 shootout win, including stopping all but one attempt in the shootout… So far this season he has accumulated a 6-3-0 record, 2.41 GAA, and 0.910 save percentage…

Brian Gionta scored 2 goals in Montreals 5-4 loss to Atlanta tonight. He has 6 goals and 4 assists for the season so far. |

Update on Blackhawks' Prospect Dan Bertram. In the pre-season Dan Bertram, selected in the second round, 54th overall in the 2005 entry draft by the Chicago Blackhawks suffered an injury in a game against the Peoria Rivermen.
At the start of the season he was assigned to the ECHL Toledo Walleyes, the Blackhawks' and IceHogs AA affiliate. Fans soon noticed that he was missing from the Walleye's roster. The AHL transactions had listed him as being added back onto the IceHogs roster on October 12th. According to the IceHogs Director of Communications, Chris Etheridge, "Dan Bertram is pursuing other activities outside of hockey. He is no longer on any team's roster".
The exact reason for Bertrams sudden exit from hockey is unknown.
