Player of the Week is Brendan van Riemsdyk.
Looks like Brendan (part of the van Riemsdyk Trifecta as its been said) is having a great year! It will be nice to see another "vR" skating on UNH ice...hopefully sooner than later! 😄. I do believe his team is playing in NH at the rinks in Exeter Oct 26th...

Jason O'Neill (DOB 3/23/97) a 5'11"' 170 forward on the Skipjacks Hockey Club 18U team has committed to UNH. So far this season, O'Neill has scored 5 goals and 3 assists in 7 games. Last April, US Hockey Report said:

"O’Neill is a skilled forward who has good size and a fluid stride. His older brother, Colin, is committed to UMass-Lowell and there is no reason why Jason couldn’t do the same. Like many players here, he is thin and lacks physical maturity, but over the next few years could develop into an excellent player. His hands are slick and smooth -- and he shoots to score. This past season he recorded a 28-33-61 line in 30 games at the U16 level."

More details to follow on the blog.

Is there any other reason? Gotta love some of the content of scouting reports.

Actually, I believe you're probably familiar with the "get the puck to the net and create traffic" approach that certain blue collar teams employ. When there are no goals, the answer is to crowd more people in the crease rather than work on shooting to score.
          The Souza record:
          15-16 10th place
          16-17 10th place
          17-18 11th place
          18-19 8th place
          19-20 9th place
          20-21 10th place
          21-22 9th place
          22-23 10th place

From a defenseman, somewhat understandable. From a forward ... not so much.

You wouldn't have any "certain blue collar team" in mind, would you 'Watcher?

"Mr High and Wide" from a few years ago comes to mind; he totally wrecked our SOG.

                          • Fine interview, Mike. Pulling a 4.0, so should fly through our Admissions Office? Would be cool to have another brother rivalry in Hockey East. But, hoping that Bentley finally gets a game at Lake Whitt next season so that S. Yzerman can play against his older bro Billy. And, as for Langway, will be interesting to see if Jamie van Riemsdyk can endure in the NHL for as long as Rod.

Transfer from UMass-Amherst; playing as a junior this year at Bentley, I think. Plays on D and has one assist in first five games.

What's next is brothers Mark and Marty Howe have descended upon Texas to be with their 86-yer-old dad, Gordie "Mr Hockey" Howe, who suffered a severe stroke on Sunday.
