  • D3 NCAA Tournament

I think this deserves it's own thread now.
The bracket is out, the teams are set, and for the first time in a long time ANY team can win this.
It should be an exciting couple weekends.

This is true. In years passed, the teams haven't always been so evenly matched. This will truely be a fight for the finish.

Very interesting to me that C-MN made the field over another East team. Could create an interesting dynamic if they somehow pulled off an upset.

It sure would be interesting to see an upset. I hope Concordia plays/practices small ice games this week, to prepare for playing on a small sheet of ice (185 x 85) this weekend. RIT has a dinky rink.

I take it that means that there is less neutral ice. The DECC in Duluth was that way, and it usually meant play in transition was huge, because action could go from one end to the other in a hurry.

This why the the Final Four should not be at RIT.

If they beat Concordia then RIT deserves to host the Frozen Four, since they will have earned throughout the year. There was a great crowd there last year for the national championship even though the men were playing at the same time downtown. If anything the size of the sheet is not the reason to say the Ritter is "dinky". The fact there is one set of bathrooms and a tiny area for food are the real problems with the rink. There is a reason RIT is planning a new rink, but the Ritter is still a great place to see a game.

Who was the #2 overall seed? Norwich?

Here's to RIT taking the Cobber's lightly and a western champion this year!

I don't think RIT will take Concordia lightly after the way last year ended. The team is on a mission this year.

Norwich is indeed the #2 overall seed.

Well you probably won't say that again (at least on the women's side) next year...

Yeah because its been such a problem during the last 40 years having a window at the north end of the rink.

Ask the UWS mens goalie from 2000-2001.....that was his excuse.
