I did predicated St. Thomas would sweep, but i also predicted St Thomas wouldn't be as good this year so I feel like I broke even.

How can they not be as good? Were Fallen, Grossman and Psimos that important to their team? They brought in much better talent than what left.

They weren't even that solid last year.

I guess to be fair, its less about them not being as talented as they were in the past, and more about other teams closing the gap. I just don't see them having the same dominance they had a few years ago. And I think they will be even closer to the rest of the pack this year. B

St. Thomas will be good but not like years past. The other MIAC teams have come up with talent and that will show as the season goes by. The MIAC is going to be crazy this year I think. Every team needs to be ready for teams that they have beat in the past. It started last night with St. Bens VS St. Thomas. what upsets are in store for this weekend? Who knows....

Too bad for Bethel with Newstrom being out but at least they have GAC out of the way. I was surprised Hamline held SMU so close. Hamline might be the dark horse this year. I was also surprised by Concordia taking care of Olaf, but Concordia is a tough place to play and they definitely have an advantage when playing at home. Obviously the St. Thomas tie to St. Ben's was surprising. St. Kate's freshman heavy roster got a wake up call by splitting with Augsburg. Hopefully that is out of the way for them.

Needless to say, who knows what to expect for next week! Going to be a crazy year. I'll put my predictions out in a bit.

I agree with you on that the MIAC this year will be wild. Also this is what is fun about hockey any given weekend some team will knock off a so called top team. It get's more interesting after Christmas.

As for scoring the whole points thing, I still am partial to my own system, because I think the whole subtracting 10% thing leads to underpredicting being worth more points, because if you only PREDICT 1 point every time, you'll do very well, cause you won't ever get lower than 70%.
