      ATHLETIC REPUBLIC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
      #19 BRITTANY DOUGHERTY, MAINE
      (Junior Forward; Chesterfield, Mich.)
      Dougherty scored four goals in two games this week for the Black Bears, including a hat trick against Boston College in the 5-2 victory on Sunday afternoon at Conte Forum. She also recorded 10 shots on goal and a +3 plus/minus rating.

      PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
      #77 KENDALL COYNE, NORTHEASTERN
      (Freshman Forward; Palos Heights, Ill.)
      Coyne tallied the Huskies' first Hockey East goal of the season on a penalty shot in a 3-2 victory against Maine on Friday night at Alfond Arena. She also added an assist on Brittany Esposito's strike and notched six shots on goal for the game.

      WHEA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
      #29 BRITTANY OTT, MAINE
      (Junior Goaltender; St. Clair Shores, Mich.)
      Ott stopped 54 of 59 shots (.915 save%) on the weekend, including 31 saves against Boston College in the 5-2 victory on Sunday. She also added 24 saves in the 3-2 loss to No. 9 Northeastern on Friday.

      WHEA TEAM OF THE WEEK
      MAINE BLACK BEARS
      The Black Bears dropped a 3-2 home decision to No. 9 Northeastern on Friday at Alfond Arena, but bounced back on Sunday picking up a 5-2 road win at No. 5 Boston College at Conte Forum. Maine went 2-for-5 on the power play vs. the Eagles.

      ARMY ROTC THREE STARS AWARD
      At the conclusion of each Hockey East game, the " Army ROTC Three Stars of The Game" are selected. Here are the 2011-2012 season leaders to date:

      HOCKEY EAST WEEKLY TOP PERFORMERS

      Alex Carpenter, BC (So., F, North Reading, Mass.) Scored the equalizer in a 3-1 win at PC on Friday and assisted the Eagles first goal vs. Maine.

      Meghan Huertas, UVM (Fr., F, Boynton Beach, Fla.) Had three assists in two weekend games against the Niagara Purple Eagles this weekend.

      Taylor Holze, BU (Jr., F, Lynnbrook, N.Y.) Notched a goal in Saturday's contest against Wisconsin.

      Kerrin Sperry, BU (So., G, North Reading, Mass.) Matched a season and career-high with 37 saves on Friday against Wisconsin. She then made 32 saves in Saturday's contest with the Badgers.

      Breanne Sundquist, UVM (So., D, Avondale, Ariz.) Had two assists as Vermont earned consecutive ties against Niagara this weekend. Jackie Young, BC (So., D, Medford, Mass.) Assisted two goals and scored her second of the season.

      Corinne Buie, PC (Edina, Minn.) Has four assists in her last two games.

            Right about that. They have some speed + quickness and a few with a good scoring touch. The blue 'Cats played a very strong game, and as I remarked to one of my favorite VERmont parents, the crossbar behind Douville in the 2nd period had to see the trainer during the break to ice all it's bruises. We hit 4 - 6 posts in about that many minutes. Speaking of Douville, let's not. I am still having flashbacks of that thief running away with some "sure" goals. She was by definition outstanding.

              Wow!! This may be a first, with DC taking top place !!! Seriously, props to her and Slewfoot for predicting the 1st PC/Maine tie (however, only Slewfoot and I got the Vermont over UNH game ) However, due to the number of low scores, it may be time to bring out the old magic 8 ball

                              Veharanta compiled five points (3g,2a) to lead the Friars to a 2-0-1 record this week. She owned a +3 plus/minus rating with 15 shots on goal in three contests on the week.

                              (Freshman Forward; Montpelier, Vt.)
                              Pelkey recorded one goal and one assist as Vermont won at New Hampshire for the first time Thursday night with a 4-1 win at the Whittemore Center.

                              WHEA CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
                              #41 FLORENCE SCHELLING, NORTHEASTERN
                              (Senior Goaltender; Oberengstringen, Switzerland)
                              Schelling amassed back-to-back shutouts in a weekend sweep against Connecticut totaling 47 saves on the weekend. She notched 23 saves in the win Friday and 24 stops in the victory on Saturday.

                              WHEA CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
                              #1 KERRIN SPERRY, BOSTON UNIVERSITY
                              (Sophomore Goaltender; North Reading, Mass.)
                              Sperry made 65 saves (.942 save%) over the weekend as she split a home-and-home series with BC. She allowed just one goal and stopped 30 shots in Wednesday night win at BC and amassed 35 saves in the 3-1 loss on Saturday.

                              WHEA TEAM OF THE WEEK
                              PROVIDENCE COLLEGE FRIARS
                              The Friars went 2-0-1 on the week, including a 9-3 win vs. Yale and a three-point weekend against Maine in a two-game set at Schneider Arena. PC scored 19 goals on the week for an average of 6.33 goals per game and the Friars went 5-for-14 on the power play (35.7%) in three contests.
