I need that NE game to be a win! I had the Beanpot right.

Picking HE is tough. Everyone ties everyone. Take a look at the # of ties in HE versus the WCHA. Same number of teams but 32 ties versus 16.

You should get extra credit for the tie pick.

That is correct, NUWH. The same thing happened last year with NU and Harvard. The game officially ended in a tie but since the Beanpot needed someone to go on, there was a shootout. (I looked for the thread from last year but couldn't find it Anyways, Freak said it was a tie and he is always right )

The rules at the beginning of the season definitely didn't cover this kind of scenario. What did yours say?

Hate to admit it, but did not cover that scenario either. Typically is a non-issue in the ECAC (No Shootouts). Like you, would revert to the NCAA ruling, goes in the books as a tie.

This years ECAC rules dated Oct 13, 2011:

We will have a weekly winner, and keep yearly standings for those that participate in at least 75% of the games. Runs from Monday to Sunday each week. I mean the number one ranked team hails from the ECAC.

Scoring will be simple. 1 point of each correct pick, win, tie or loss. Results will be posted ranked on both points and percentage. To be eligible for the percentage award, you must pick all the games, and be part of the weekly picks at least 75% of the time.

Good Luck and lets have some fun.

I have often wondered if this was due to the number of goalie head coaches that we have in HE. IMO, they hate (even more than others) to get scored on so I have wondered how this impacts the play.
